TOWN OF MOORES HILL ORDINANCE 2012路8路1 AMENDING ORDINANCE 2010-4 REGULATING THE REMOVAL OF UNCUT GRASS, WEEDS AND RANK VEGETATION WITHIN THE TOWN OF MOORES HILL WHEREAS, The Town of Moores Hill has the power under Indiana Code to regulate conduct, or use or possession of propertY that might endanger the public health, safety, or welfare; and WHEREAS, on July 6TH, 2010, Ordinance 2010-4 was enacted by the Town of Moores Hill to prohibit grass, weeds, or rank vegetation to grow over ten (l0) inches in height, and; WHEREAS, LC. 36-7-10.1-3 was amended by HEA 1072 in the 2012 session of the Indiana Legislature to include a continual abatement notice. If the initial notice to the property owner is served via certified mail, the notice can include a statement saying if there are further violations throughout the year, and the Town of Moores Hill mows the weeds on the owners behalf, or takes corrective action to force compliance with Ordinance 2010-4, the property owner will receive notice at the property instead of by certified mail. This notice can be delivered at the time corrective action is taken by the Town of Moores Hill.
