Setya Novanto, the speaker of Indonesian House of Representatives, is truly a charismatic leader with visionary capabilities. At the helm of the legislative government institution representing the people of Indonesia is not an easy task, indeed. Novanto is well aware of his position, which puts him in the public eye. Just like with any other political figures in Indonesia, and even the world, there are always pros and cons, and yet, Novanto sees this as a challenge that even sharpens his commitment to making Indonesia a better nation. Indeed, he is a visionary leader playing get-up-and-go when it comes to carrying out his duties, which he believes that the people’s mandate should be the bedrock of what he does. With his avuncular smile, the charismatic leader always reminds himself that “being the speaker of Indonesian House of Representatives means carrying out an obligation to represent the decisions of this institution that are based on the aspirations of Indonesian people across the archipelago.” His wish is to work side-by-side as a strong partner of the government in making policies. In his eyes, “a strong partner will become an important criterion for the formation of a mechanism of checks and balances that constitutes the basis for a democratic society.” It’s a noble wish, indeed; which comes from the mind of such visionary leader as Novanto.

Creating a society and community that is just and prosperous is also his objective. To achieve this, his mission is to create an efficient and effective legislative function in the House of Representatives. In other words, this legislative government institution should serve as an independent and professional representative institution. This can be done so through the power of laws and the implementation of legislative functions. Novanto realises that a checks and balances mechanism between State institutions, especially between the executive and legislative branches, is the only way that can lead Indonesia to a smooth journey toward being a viable democracy. Realizing this is not easy and Novanto is aware of his position to make the journey even smoother. Wholeheartedly supporting Novanto in his work is his wife, Deisti Astriani Tagor, who has faithfully been his loving partner in taking care of their household and the needs and education of their children. Novanto realises that “education is so important and children are given to us to take care of by God, who we have to raise to become useful members of society.” Despite his busy schedule, the father of four always finds time to maintain an open line of communication with his children by phone or video call. “As a family we also try to sit together at the dining table before we start our day.” Novanto’s commitment to a better Indonesia has led him to endeavour to do whatever he can to improve Indonesia’s economy and thus improve the lives of ordinary folks. It was with this in mind that he recently travelled to the US. He had been originally invited to the IPU Speakers Conference (Inter Parliamentary Union) which was the 4th World Parliament Leaders Conference held from 31 August to 2 September 2015. “The main purpose of my trip to the US was as a diplomatic overseas venture by the House to show the world that Indonesia is one of the greatest countries in the world and as such deserves proper

recognition. My speech before the IPU proved the fact that there is global acknowledgment of Indonesia. In addition I also tried to convince outside parties, especially investors, that they should not hesitate to invest in Indonesia.” With a view towards developing further contacts for possible investment in Indonesia, Novanto and his delegation also met with Donald Trump. The meeting with this renowned American tycoon is to establish a network of new contacts to build on Trump’s investments in Indonesia. Novanto and his group then continued on to Los Angeles (L.A.) where Novanto gave a keynote speech before members of an Indonesia-America business association. They also met with the Indonesian diaspora in L.A., followed by a visit to Washington, D.C., where Novanto was a speaker in a discussion on “The Role of House of Representatives in Indonesia’s Governance” at USINDO. As a visionary leader, Novanto relies on patience, honesty and resoluteness as the key virtues in his contributions to building a more prosperous Indonesia. “These three virtues have taught me to not be hasty in making a decision.” When it comes to the nitty-gritty of problems in societies, Novanto will not hesitate to get down himself visiting various communities, including travelling back and forth to the village communities in East Nusa Tenggara, which is Novanto’s constituency. His love for the people of the nation is also reflected by his involvement at “Going Home Together” activities during Lebaran holidays. He once got down to the field checking out prices of daily staples at the Kramat Jati Wholesale Market ahead of the Idul Fitri holidays. It’s only one of the many that expresses Novanto’s dedication to the people of Indonesia. Regardless of the future that may hold in the year to come, people have placed their trust in him, and what always bears in Novanto’s mind is realizing the hopes of the 250 million people to have a better nation with strong economy.

Unveiling the new Métiers d’Art models in the Vacheron Constantin collection. Swiss manufacture of haute horlogerie, Vacheron Constantin is introducing its Métiers d’Art Fabuleux Ornements collection – an invitation to celebrate the ornamental beauties of the world drawn from the decorative arts of several cultures. After its first launch two years ago, the collection unveils four new models born of the art of open working and a combination of artistic crafts bearing the Hallmark of Geneva. The collection boasts works of ten different master artisans who have provided reinterpretations of Ottoman architecture, Chinese embroidery, Indian manuscripts and French lacework.

All the creations are equipped with an ethereal hand-engraved movement – calibre ultra-thin 1003 in 18K gold. The finesse of the front-facing décor is precise to the nearest tenth of a millimetre. On the back Vacheron Constantin has opted for an exclusively chamfered and hand-drawn finish that preserves a restrained appearance. This new collection is where traditional arts meet at the crossroads of different cultures. The “French lacework” model is adorned with a translucent handguilloché Grand Feu enamelled dial. The base of the gold dial is clad in a guilloché motif lending subtle depth to the transparent enamel and set with garnet-coloured sapphires and diamonds. The fourth timepiece “Chinese embroidery” is crafted in pink gold according to the stone- cloisonné technique with jade. Fall Winter 2015 Ready to Wear Having taken up the reins at Hermès, the new designer Nadège VanheeCybulski seems to have given what the fashion label’s customers expected in its Fall-Winter ready to wear collection She introduces a strong sequence in navy leather and suede, cut into a short A-line jacket, suede trousers, as well as an ineffably luxurious trenchcoat, following up with a nod to Hermès tradition in blue and white silk scarf-print. “You have to work with leather,” the 36-year-old designer says. Then, you can add the equestrian heritage and those iconic silk scarves. The collection boasts quilted leather in a dark burgundy referenced riding jackets, while red stripes woven into cashmere wrap coats subtly referenced horse blankets. Vanhee-Cybulski set her debut inside the Manège des Célestins horse arena of the La Garde Républicaine in Paris. Her first show with Hermès recalls how the fashion label got it started back in 1837, providing harnesses and bridles for the carriage trade. To her, Hermès means a Frenchwoman. “It’s about being elegant, but natural and discreet. It’s about reaching women all over the world, because Hermès is everywhere.” In the world of equestrian, thoroughbreds need to be treated with respect. Galloping off in the direction of too much fashion is not really advisable. And Vanhee-Cybulski knows that as a designer she has to stick to her role in grooming and keeping the stable fresh. Her closest brush with fashion—two long, plain, fluted dresses, one in red, the other ivory—really touched the shape of the moment.

Indeed, leather has played an important role in this equestrian-inspired collection. Here, Vanhee-Cybulski worked in into a chick black and navy lambskin pairing on coats, jackets and two-tone striping on pants. An iconic carrés bandana print scarf was turned into a familiar silk top and matching skirt. There’s tone-on-tone shadow outline crafted out of silk jacquard; and there’re also the proverbial horse blanket coats. Other outerwear inspired
by a quilted saddle pad had a bit more kick. Meanwhile, the minimalistic silk and cashmere knitwear garments were energized by their lemon yellow or tomato red monochrome color. Vanhee-Cybulski joined Hermès with an outstanding pedigree. She started her career working at Maison Martin Margiela, followed by a few years of stint at Celine. And don’t forget that she is French; it’s that little detail you should not ignore.

The First Haute Fourrure Collection Celebrating the 50th anniversary of its collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi designed the first Haute Fourrure Collection at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. The design titled Silver Moon marked the debut of this new 2015-2016 collection. With fashionistas baking in a mascara-melting heatwave and Italy’s Fendi set to raise hackles with an all-fur collection, Paris Fashion Week, which began Sunday, may prove a tad too haute to handle. The magical atmosphere of the Champs-Élysées Theatre surrounded the 35 Haute Fourrure creations on the catwalk. It was the ultimate expression of the highest creativity and craftmanship that have always

made the Maison unique. Fantasy birds, feathers, embroideries and, of course, fur, triumphed in an unexpected and surprising way. The collection took fur to the highest level, featuring breathtaking embroideries and a unique use of feathers. The tradition of Fendi’s most elaborate fur workmanships was sublimated by the most incredible handmade embroideries created in the Haute Couture ateliers in Paris as Lemarié and Hurel. From 200 to 600 hours of the most expert artisan’s handmade abilities were needed to create these works of art. Mink, sable, lynx, fox, Persian lamb were reworked like never before thanks to revolutionary techniques in the world of fur. Gucci Cruise Campaign Capturing Cruise 2016 Collection in a Dance Party Film
Italian fashion label Gucci is scaling its cruise 2016 collection of contemporary essence at greater height through a campaign film that features a dance party scene. Gucci’s new creative director, designer Alessandro Michele knew that he had to throw a good party to impress the audience with his new collection. So he conjured this wisdom with a great concept of the 2016 cruise campaign. Michele expresses his delight on the contribution of photographer Glen Luchford who directed the campaign film. “It’s about providing a more nuanced, subtle and multidimensional romanticism in my collections, moving away from overt sexuality,” says the creative director. The three-minute video is started out by the electronic track “She’s

The scene will give you a basic understanding of Michele’s imaginary event where he wants to take Gucci as the center of attention. The ad picture truly reflects the natural movements of partygoers. With his creative mind, Luchford really takes consumers inside the print campaign. As a beret-bedecked model enters the villa, the camera follows from behind, strutting in slow motion. This Gucci’s creative campaign is truly bringing the fashion label to the new level, as the brand is slated to showcase its Spring 2016 collection at the upcoming Milan Fashion Week. With this campaign, the brand’s e-commerce site has been given an aesthetic refresh and welcomes a new editorial component, thanks to the work of designer Michele.
His well-documented obsession with interiors for his Spring 2016 show has brought the vision of a new Gucci.com, featuring photography, vertical scrolling and an editorial section. Entering the new site, visitors are invited to play a clip from the cruise campaign film. In a mansion that displays an impressing array of antique furniture and murals, the film features dancing models decked out in Michele’s Wes Anderson-esque aesthetic. It demonstrates, really, that you can actually live in Gucci’s popular loafers and sheer blouses.

To further boost Tourism to Indonesia, President Joko Widodo of Indonesia has recently signed Presidential Decree no. 104 of 2015, granting special Short Stay Visa Free facilities for tourists who are nationals of a total 75 countries who wish to travel to Indonesia. And, including the 15 countries and Special Regions who already have reciprocal Visa Free Agreements with Indonesia, this brings the total to 90 countries whose nationals may be extended Visa Free Entry. This means an addition of no less than 45 more countries compared to the list of only a few month back. The new Decree is now already being implemented. Indonesia aims to receive 20 million tourists in 2019, a surge from an estimated 10 – 12 million international tourist arrivals in 2015, stated Indonesian Tourism Minister, Arief Yahya. Mr. Anker Haldan Dynaudio : The Art of Listening Dynaudio is a Danish high-end loudspeaker maker, founded in 1977 by Danish Ejvind Skaaning and Germany’s Wilfried Ehrenholz and Gerhard Richter. At the time, the Dynaudio founders dedicated all their resources to develop sound system and loudspeakers technology that would transmit music and sound in the purest quality of a live performance. It all started with the engineers, being young, passionate in music, and sound engineers themselves, who understood how music should sound and were not satisfied with the quality of the sound system back in the 1970’s. It is at this point that they decided they had to create new innovation and technology to make it better. In the long run, they did. According to Anker Haldan, International Sales Manager, Dynaudio is now recognized as the best sound and audio system manufacturer, as almost 50 percent of all the music being recorded all over the world today is recorded in studios using Dynaudio system. Professionals in the music industry prefer Dynaudio recording system and loudspeakers, as the music it produces is as pure and has exactly the same quality as when one hears it in a live performance. Wilfried Ehrenholz brought the artistic designer oriented boxes into the loudspeaker industry, replacing the product line of classically shaped square boxes. Ejvind Skaaning left the company in 1987. Until October 2014, Ehrenholz was a sole shareholder of the company before GoerTek - a consumer electronics company based in China - acquired it in 2014. Today, Wilfried Ehrenholz is a minority shareholder and Vice Chairman of Dynaudio. Apart from the interesting history of the company, today, Dynaudio is one of the world wide leading manufacturer of high-end and quality loudspeakers to the hi-fi market, as well as the automobile industry, and the professional market. Their target is to create more convenient products such as wireless loudspeakers, and products that are built-in in walls. This is how Dynaudio believes the real growth will come, namely by expanding their product catalog, as pointed out by Anker Haldan. So far, Dynaudio has been focusing on home audio system, car audio, and professional music studios such as recording studios and broadcasting studios. Pre-installed Dynaudio car audio system can be found in some of the European cars such as Volkswagen. However, by adding more variety of products, within 5 years, Dynaudio sees itself as the number one audio manufacturer of high-end and high-quality hi-fi products. In addition, to reach this goal, International Sales Manager, Anker Haldan, points out that new marketing strategies are being implemented in several markets such as Australia which will open up new businesses in the country. Today, Dynadio is present in 60 countries including the following countries in Asia: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and one of its biggest market in China, where they have their own sales organization. Dynaudio itself was first introduced into Indonesia about 5 years ago through sole distributor MDI Audio, focusing on home audio system and car audio systems for car audio installers. As Dynaudio first introduced its new range of convenient products, such as wireless speakers, it was this market in Indonesia that first absorbed the products the fastest. The company provides an up to 8-year extended warranty option for its products, a proof that each element will last longer and perform better. Even after 8 years of product launch, spare parts for the top of line products will still be provided up to 20 years.

Gert Borrits talks about Grundfos, Hållning and their high quality products. Celebrating the 25 years of anniversary for a giant company like Grundfos means a success in building its strong corporate culture. “I can say that Grundfos for many years has been built on a very strong foundation of corporate values. In the last 10 years, all of these values have been boiled down to six core values. And those values are very much centred around customers and employees,” Gert Borrits, managing director of Grundfos Pompa, asserts. Grundfos Pompa is the Indonesia’s presence of Grundfos, the world’s largest pump manufacturer based in Bjerringbro, Denmark. The company is well-known for its high quality pumps and pumping systems. At the helm of Grundfos Pompa, Borrits is aware that the company’s core values are the elements that have not only laid the company’s strong foundation, but also allowed Grundfos to thrive in Indonesia. “It’s all about openness, about how we deal with customers and partners in an accountable way. This is one of the strongest aspects that this company respect and one of the big parts of the success worldwide,” Borrits remarks. “We’re trying to create this image in every country we operate. I think we have close to 90 companies across the globe. Basically, in most countries we have either production facilities or sales facilities. Here, in Indonesia, we have a little combination of both,” he adds. Grundfos Pompa has managed to stay at the forefront of the pump industry since its first commencement in 1990. “Being a leader in a business means that you have to have your customers recognize that you are the leader. This is reflected through either scoring the highest sales or building the best credibility in the market,” he says. So for Grundfos, it has always been the core to have a strong and high degree of technology and new product development “that will keep us ahead of the competition”, he further explains. “And the most important thing is high quality product. Customers don’t have to discuss about quality, because when they buy Grundfos products they know they get the best quality.” Borrits goes on to say about Grundfos’s partnership with Hållning, which specialized in ergonomic products including office and study furniture. Hållning has been appointed as the Indonesian distributor for a number of European brands, such as Moll, McNeill, RH, HÅG, SA

Möbler and Duba B8. Asked about the quality of Hållning’s products, Borrits quickly responds, “They really bring super quality and values to the people who use their products. We are happy to use their products. The economical factor is also a big thing. I also like their height adjustable desk. All in all, everything has to do with comfort.” Borrits believes that sophistication and simplicity are what make Hållning stand out. Just like with Grundfos, whose products are manufactured in Denmark, Hållning represents Scandinavian region. “In Denmark and Scandinavian countries, we make those products in strong simplicity in the design. Yet, the top-notch quality produced is one thing that relates to our sophistication. Functionality and simplicity are the keywords. And that’s exactly what we want in our office. We keep the office as spacious as possible with simplified, functional and of course high quality furniture. And we have done very well in providing these needs,” Borrits explains. For him, the importance of quality products such as those of Hållning is necessary. “One of our values is we want our employees to be happy. We want them to have an environment that simulates our high quality products we sell. It doesn’t make any sense if we sell high quality and relatively expensive products from an office that doesn’t meet the same standard,” he expresses his view. “So it’s about walk the talk. It’s about do what you say and say what you do.” Speaking of ergonomic products, Borrits believes that “if you stretch your muscle and your bone structure less during your working hours, then you can be more relaxed; thus it’s easier for you to regenerate your muscle and energy again.” Grundfos’s policy is everyone comes at 8 in the morning and goes home at 5 in the late afternoon. “I don’t want anybody to still sit in the office ‘till 7 in the evening. I want people to have balance between work and relaxation. Because there are other things in the world other than Grundfos, such as family, or maybe your sport time, and so on. So, when they’re here at Grundfos, the more we can get them to enjoy and relax and don’t have stress in the body, I think it’ll be much easier to get to work the next day. So I think there’s a big relation between the two.” In his conclusion, Borrits recalls the similarity of Grundfos and Hållning despite their product differences. “We both dare to practice what we believe can perfect what we produce.”

Bali Reborn is a form of contribution to preserve and promote the traditional Balinese paintings, and displays the works of artists who depict about their family, nature, people, and their love of Bali the land where they were born and reside. Balinese traditional painting might well not be realized without honesty, without discipline, without the persistence and without the spirit of learning.

This means that Sotheby’s now holds the world records for a standard bottle. Sotheby’s Wine auctions in 2014 brought a worldwide total of $65.3 million. Sotheby’s overall total of $88.27 million for global wine auctions in 2010 is the highest in the company’s forty-three years of wine auctions. In early this December Sotheby’s already sale spectacular collection, A Century Classic Wine in London. Stephen Mould, Head of Sotheby’s European Wine Departement said “The great attraction of this collection is the sheer breadth of vintages of Classed Growth Bordeaux”.
