ROLEX
Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42
Launched in 1992, the Yacht-Master was designed specifically for navigators and skippers. Embodying the rich heritage that has bound Rolex and the world of sailing since the 1950s, this Professional-category watch provides a perfect blend of functionality and nautical style, making it equally at home on and off the water. An emblematic nautical timepiece, it is easily recognized by its bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel made entirely from precious metal or fitted with a Cerachrom insert in high-technology ceramic. Rolex is presenting a new version of the Yacht-Master 42. The nautical watch is now also available in 18 ct yellow gold, after having been offered uniquely in 18 ct white gold. The new version, which, like the original model, includes a bidirectional rotatable bezel and a Cerachrom insert with a raised graduation as well as the innovative Oysterflex bracelet,
benefits from an optimized Chromalight display. The hour markers and hands are filled or coated with a new luminescent material, exclusive to Rolex, that guarantees a longer-lasting intense glow. In daylight, these display elements also have a brighter white hue. The new version of the Yacht-Master 42 is equipped with calibre 3235, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology, enabling it to display the hours, minutes, seconds and date. Like all Rolex watches, it carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, which ensures excellent performance on the wrist and is paragon of robustness and reliability, the 42 mm Oyster case of the new Yacht-Master 42 is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet). Its middle case is crafted from a solid block of 18 ct yellow gold. The case back, edged with fine fluting, is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. The Triplock winding crown, fitted with a triple waterproofness system and protected by an integral crown guard, screws down securely against the case. The crystal, which is fitted with a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock for easy reading of the date, is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire and benefits from an anti-reflective coating.
The Oysterflex bracelet singularly combines the robustness and reliability of a metal bracelet with the flexibility, comfort and aesthetics of an elastomer strap. The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer is of the order of −2 /+2 seconds per day. The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that comes with every Rolex watch and is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
MONTBLANC
Iced Sea Diver’s Watch
Montblanc introduced the Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date, the Maison’s first ever sports diving watch in July 20th at Plaza Indonesia. It featured a “frozen” dial inspired by the glacial lakes of the MontBlanc Massif and the captivating texture of the ice with its interlocking network of crystals that have been frozen in time for millennia. Looking at the “frozen” dial of Montblanc’s first ever certified diving watch is like diving through the ice. In a technical feat, Montblanc dial makers have created the illusion of looking into the depths of a glacier. The Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date comes in a 41mm stainless steel case with a bicolour ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel and a case back featuring a 3D relief engraving of an iceberg and a scuba diver exploring the glacial waters below.
With this outstanding engraving of a scuba diver in glacial waters, this gem of a watch used the help of advanced laser engraving for enhancements. The
unidirectional rotating bezel has colour-matching ceramic inserts with white Arabic numerals and markings and a detailed 15-minute scale. The dot marker has Super-LumiNova with a blue glow. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings on both sides protects the dial. The crown screws down and features the Montblanc emblem, and water-resistance is rated at 300 metres. The interchangeable V-shaped stainless-steel bracelet can be quickly and easily switched for a rubber strap without the use of any tools. It is also adjustable on the wrist, so each owner can find their perfect fit, especially when wearing it over a wet suit. The stainlesssteel bracelet also comes with an attractive taper of 20 – 16mm
and is secured by a double deploying buckle.
The Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date comes in three different dial colours – blue, green, and black – each one representing different colours of glacial ice from around the world. Powering the new 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date is the MB 24.17 automatic, based on the Sellita SW200-1. It has 26 jewels, beats at 28,800vph (4Hz) with a 38-hour power reserve. Functions include central hours, minutes, hacking seconds and date. The timepiece conforms to the ISO 6425 norm for diving watches and is waterresistant to 300 metres.
