REGIS RISING
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Friends, My Jesuit brother and former Superior General, Pedro Arrupe, S.J., said, “If we speak a language no longer appropriate to the hearts of people, we speak only to ourselves.” We live in an ever-changing world. As industry and business needs adapt to the challenges ahead, education cannot remain still. Regis University is meeting the challenges of the world as it will be, not as it is now. When students invest their time in a college education, they need to know that their education will change the course of their lives, expand their career opportunities and ultimately change how they view the world and the challenges they will face. Regis University graduates reside in all 50 of these United States and beyond. They care for the sick, they are in classrooms teaching the next generation of leaders, they are infusing Jesuit values into the organizations they may own or lead. They are advocating for social justice and walking with those who are marginalized. They do not sit still. Our new Anderson College of Business and Computing combines essential IT knowledge with a business discipline. Business graduates need to know the challenges facing data security – we’re meeting that need. Our Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions offers interdisciplinary courses that are in demand today and will remain relevant to meet the needs for an emerging health care environment. Regis College and our new School for Professional Advancement will offer career development opportunities to those who may think further education is beyond their grasp. We will give students the respect they need to graduate with a new outlook and passion for the world. We are Regis. We are ready to serve.
Rev. John P. Fitzgibbons, S.J.

Students have access to multiple centers where they learn by doing. The new College focuses on the common good. Regis students are taught humanist Jesuit values allowing them to become stewards and guardians of society. The Jesuit value Magis encourages people to give more of themselves for the benefit of others. Those who pursue the Magis do so seeking excellence. This value becomes a personal mission for students at Anderson. Their capstone projects, service learning programs and college competitions all encourage students to pursue the Magis.

Using innovative simulation and skills labs, students are immersed in a real-life scenario, equipping them to experience a variety of physical, behavioral and cultural conditions they will face when caring for patients. Students are evaluated based on their competency, confidence and ability to interact with other health profession students in a team-based environment.
As a result of the recent pandemic and our innovative use of online education, students and professors were able to use live video platforms to carry out their physical assessments. This “super-hybrid approach allows students to learn virtually while also completing the practicum element of their course.

Regis University and RHCHP have established
partnerships with several health care institutions that serve as clinical placement sites. Students have the opportunity to integrate the theoretical knowledge and care coordination principles they learn in the classroom with hands-on clinical practice. In return, students gain confidence, knowledge and the opportunity to strengthen their critical thinking skills. As students graduate and enter the workforce, they are fully prepared to practice in a variety of health care settings. The College takes an interprofessional approach to the teaching of health care disciplines. For example, nursing students learn alongside counseling, physical therapy and pharmacy students. This approach gives students an holistic understanding of patient needs and care coordination outside their discipline.
This comprehensive approach is the embodiment of the
Jesuit value cura personalis, meaning care for the whole person. A core requirement of all health care programs is service learning, whereby students learn not only how to serve their community and vulnerable populations, but also the importance of caring for their physical, spiritual and behavioral needs. Students also learn how socioeconomic factors may influence access to health care. Our students are committed to learning the relevant skills and gaining the necessary experience during their tenure at Regis University, so they can enter the workforce and provide an exceptional patient experience. As Regis University and RHCHP charge into a new reality in health care — a reality filled with new challenges, practices and disciplines — our health care graduates have the relevant experience and are ready to serve.

STUDENT SUCCESS
STUDENT SUCCESS
#CHOOSEREGIS
Going from full-time worker or caretaker to student can be a stressful transition. In fact, 42% of people aged 30-plus are likely to drop out of a four-year degree program. The Student Success Initiative works to alleviate the stress and demands of this transition, and ensure success. Education is no doubt an investment, and when students invest in their future with a degree from Regis University, we want to ensure they get the best possible return on that investment. The Student Success Initiative, first implemented by Regis College, establishes a working relationship between the students and trained Success Coaches. Our Success Coaches are working professionals who have had a career and decided to pay it forward and

work in higher education. They are helping to identify the next generation of exceptional and dedicated leaders. The Success Coaches create individual learning and career plans for traditional undergraduates and returning mature or postgraduate students. Working with the Center for Career and Professional Development, Success Coaches prepare students for interviews, internships and the transition from full- or part-time student to a full-time career.
Student Affairs also works with students to help them find purpose in their education. They do not see a university education as a transaction but rather a transformational experience. Barbara Wilcots, Ph.D., vice president of Student Affairs, states: “We want to ensure that their college experience is meaningful. People come to Regis because we help them find their

calling — personally and professionally. Is their degree going to be meaningful for them? Are they reaching their true and full potential? Have they found a passion that will empower them to make a positive difference in the world? These are the honest questions that students must answer for themselves before they progress. Many of the academic programs offered by Regis University contain a service component. Students are encouraged to serve or volunteer in the community. They are encouraged to make a direct impact and engage. Even post-traditional students studying online may volunteer in a network of organizations across the U.S. established by Regis University and the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
Regis University also has a proud tradition of welcoming and working with military veterans who are looking to transition into civilian life or progress in the military. The Student Affairs Division provides academic and professional resources to our veterans to ensure their transition is as smooth as possible. When our students become graduates, they are transformed and empowered by their experience. They have a new perspective on service and on engagement, and they take their experiences forward to serve their community. When they leave Regis University, graduates are empowered with newly found confidence and respect for themselves and the community.

REGIS REPUTATION REGIS COLLEGE
AN EXCEPTIONAL FUTURE BUILT UPON
A SOLID FOUNDATION
As Regis approaches its 150-year anniversary, we celebrate our history by securing our future. Regis College, as it was, never sat still. The leaders and students of yesterday never accepted the status quo and always pursued excellence. Today’s students are offered the same challenges and inspirations found in a revitalized liberal arts and science education in the Jesuit tradition. In our distinctive, integrative core, over 1,000 students each year grapple with timeless problems and urgent questions — such as “How ought we to live?”— as they probe issues of diversity, race, justice and the environment. Reflecting deeply on how to infuse their lives with meaning and purpose, they use this education to shape their world as it ought to be. Applying their education to the world, just as it is, 1,100 students each year engage in service learning or community-based learning, completing almost 20,000 hours of high-impact engagement with our community. These engaged learning opportunities provide key growth occasions for our Regis students as they embrace being in service with and for others.

Our superb Academic Internship Program places hundreds of graduate and undergraduate students with community partners for hands-on experiential learning, in professions ranging from law to medicine to public relations to politics. Our Certificate in Applied Craft Brewing program even places externs in the most popular breweries in Colorado! Our faculty includes five Fulbright Fellows from 2010 onward, a prior Colorado Educator of the Year and grant winners from the National Science Foundation. Students enjoy formative relationships with their academic mentors. Year after year, our graduates transition into medical schools, law schools, prestigious graduate programs, or they may join the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Teach
for America or the Peace Corps.
In their homes and communities, they lead their best lives and fulfill their ambitions in the Regis way, bringing ethical perspectives to businesses, compassion and care to the downtrodden, and a focused energy to build a more just and humane world.

Regis College offers evening and online options for many programs, providing opportunities to a broader range of dedicated leaders who want to improve their education and enhance their employable skills. Our newly formed Division of Education combines all our education programs with one unified mission dedicated to providing the highest quality education to teachers and school leaders who will work in our K-12 school communities. Our graduate programs for practicing teachers and our extensive programs for newly licensed teachers are grounded in the Jesuit traditions of a liberal arts education. All programs encompass opportunities for experiential practice in schools, connections to our communities, a focus on research and critical thinking, and a mission of serving the diverse educational needs of our children. Building on Regis' long and successful history in adult education, our new School for Professional Advancement will allow adult learners and nontraditional students to take advantage of a liberal arts education that simultaneously advances their career prospects. To ensure success in the online learning environment, non-traditional students start with a new online
orientation that introduces them to our online platform and student support services. To better serve existing students, the School has also created a “Continuous Enrollment Scholarship” which helps support adult and non-traditional students who face temporary financial hardships that would otherwise force them to drop out of Regis. All adult and nontraditional students take Leading Lives That Matter, a course that explores the meaning of Jesuit values and reflects on the impact of a Jesuit education. Through this committed focus on mission, they learn how these values enhance their personal and professional lives. In short, Regis University graduates are out changing the world in leadership roles. At Regis, we are called to do holy work together, work where the Jesuit’s Universal Apostolic Preferences charge us to accompany youth on their journey to create a hopefilled future. The faculty and staff of Regis College and the School for Professional Advancement embrace this mission —
this call to walk in solidarity with our students from a wide array of diverse backgrounds— with passion, with energy, with hope. They live it with renewed purpose each day. # R E G I S R E P U TAT I O N

REGIS RANGERS
STUDENTATHLETES IN SERVICE
#RegisRangers Jesuits have long used the Latin dictum, mens sana in corpore sano — a healthy mind in a healthy body — to demonstrate the important connection between healthy living and success, both in the classroom and on the playing field. This outlook develops the whole person — cura personalis. At Regis University, athletics is a “curriculum” unto itself through which our young women and men learn leadership and hard work, camaraderie and teamwork, and the lessons that come from winning or losing. Regis University and our student-athletes were awarded the NCAA President’s Award for Academic Excellence in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Since 2007, a total of 197 studentathletes have earned a 4.0 GPA, placing them in The Honor Society.

Athletes and academics are intertwined. As a Division II school, our athletes are required to maintain a strong GPA to receive their scholarship and still perform at their best in their sport. As part of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), the Rangers compete against other Division II schools in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota and Utah. Our Rangers mentor youth teams, take part in service learning projects and act as ambassadors for Regis University in their chosen sport. Regis Rangers are focused on their academics and on their sports. Through our focus on accountability, service and tradition, they are acquiring skills that will serve them well upon graduation, in their communities and in the workplace as they go forth and set the world on fire.

NEW DEVELOPMENTS In 2018, Regis University honored our unification with Loretto Heights College with a grotto dedicated to the Sisters of Loretto. Over the years, weather and nature have taken their course. With a gift from a generous benefactor and other generous donors, the grotto will be made wheelchair accessible, the statue restored and the area made an inviting space everyone can enjoy.
The Berce Athletic Center opening in fall 2020 will be a premier sports practice facility for our student-athletes. The athletic center will be a multifunctional practice facility containing basketball and volleyball courts.
The Simulation Lab is an essential part of the students' interprofessional training. Faculty utilize the sim lab as a method of teaching to assure students fully understand important aspects of health care. The lab gives students the opportunity to take classroom knowledge and apply it to real life scenarios. The Regis simulation lab serves an average of 32 students per class. Due to the increased demand for health professions training, the University needs to expand future capacity.
There is still much more to do at Regis University. Our students, both traditional and nontraditional, live in an ever-evolving world and deserve an affordable education in an inviting and dynamic environment.
