Connecting Ranger Faculty to the Division of Student Life

September 2014 Issue

Welcome Back! The Division of Student Life would like to welcome you back to the University for the 2014-2015 academic year! With all of the changes and preparations happening around campus, it’s critical to stay connected as a community. Announcing all of the updates and planned events in Student Life for the upcoming year is a commitment the Division of Student Life would like to honor each month in the Regis Review.

Resources for Distressed Students All faculty members will be receiving a Blue Folder in the next few weeks with information regarding how to assist students in distress. This folder is an updated version of the Red Folder which faculty received last year. Emergency contact information, on and off-campus resources, and updated policy information are all included. If you do not receive a Blue Folder or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Student Life at 303.458.4086.

Programming Changes Residence Life, Housing, and Event Services Each year, the Office of Residence Life, Housing, and Event Services evaluates its programming model so it can best serve the needs of its continuously changing student body. The purpose of programming within the residence halls is to care for the whole person while providing opportunities to answer the Jesuit question, “how ought we to live?” Programming accomplishes this by creating a safe and welcoming environment for students to develop community, embrace diversity, foster civic engagement and social justice, and partake in leadership opportunities. Programming ultimately seeks to meet the emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental needs of each student. After much research and input from students, the “Wellness
