Academic Leadership Dr. Patricia A. Ladewig Job Title – Provost, Regis University Education – Ph.D., Higher Education Administration, University of Denver; Master of Science in Nursing, Maternal-Infant Health, Catholic University of America; Bachelor of Science, College of St. Teresa; Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program, University of Colorado Health Sciences Center Expertise –Academic leadership. As provost, Dr. Ladewig serves as the chief academic administrator position for Regis University and serves as acting president in the extended absence of the University president. She has worked in higher education for more than 30 years. She has previously served as vice president for Academic Affairs and academic dean of the University’s Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions. Her research focuses on the evolution of active galactic nuclei (AGN) in clusters of galaxies. She utilizes multiwavelength observations (Chandra X-ray imaging/spectroscopy, Very Large Array (VLA) radio maps, and optical imaging/spectroscopy) to understand the nature of these sources within the cluster environment. Specifically, she is interested in understanding how the energy output of AGN affect their surroundings and if they alter the physical properties of the intracluster medium. Her scientific interests include AGN in clusters and groups of galaxies, energy feedback mechanisms, radio-loud sources, multi-wavelength studies, observational astronomy with large and small telescopes, binary stars, astronomy education research and public outreach. After 10 years of building theatres and directing and writing for them and eight years working with Westword’s parent company, Village Voice Media (point reader for writing and editing applicants for the company’s 12 alternative newspapers nationwide), McGovern returned to teaching. He has been with Regis’s College for Professional Studies since 2007, teaching literature, philosophy and creative writing, and founding The M.A. program’s Creative Writing specialization.
