THE REGIS Connecting Ranger Faculty to the Division of Student Life

OVERVIEW OF JUDICIAL AFFAIRS AT REGIS

“Patience is the companion of wisdom.” –St. Augustine -

Judicial Affairs works with students found in violation of community standards of conduct. We are committed to creating and maintaining an environment where individual and institutional responsibility combine to promote each student’s development. It is our hope that our disciplinary process will help students learn from their experiences and become productive and positive members of their communities.

Academic Internship Top reasons to encourage your students to participate in an academic internship Course Credit -

Students can earn credit for academic internships. Half of all Regis graduates have used academic internships toward meeting their graduation requirements.

Individualized faculty mentoring - Faculty provide the link between

the theory of their academic discipline and real world application of the skills related to their major.

Personal growth - An academic

internship gives students new and different challenges and helps them develop skills for our global economy. As well, internships help students with practical skills that they will utilize in other parts of their lives.

Career planning - Encourage your students who pursue internships to talk about their experience. Has it validated their chosen career path or motivated them to explore a different career? Job seeking skills - Lining up an internship requires students to prepare a

resume, learn how to search for a position that suits their career goals, participate in interviews, formally accept an offer and possibly even learn how to reject an offer. These job skills will serve them well throughout their professional life. Students can work with Career Services in addition to Academic Internships to prepare each step of the way from preparing a resume to accepting an offer. Students with the Blues Some students find their struggle to adjust to college life develops into a more serious condition such as depression or anxiety. If you notice your students becoming increasingly anxious, sad and/ or withdrawn, encourage them to meet with a counselor. The Office of Counseling & Personal Development offers a safe and accepting environment where students can increase their self-awareness and learn strategies to handle crisis situations and persisting problems. A professional staff of licensed and qualified psychologists and counselors provide individual and group services which include short-term counseling, long-term counseling (no session limits), referral to a consulting psychiatrist when appropriate, and assessment of more severe psychological concerns.
