Love Letters

are as meaningful for the writer as they are for the reader. Whether writing a love letter in the form of a real life card if you remember what that is... you put a stamp on it or if expressing yourself in a SL note card, a love letter shouldn’t be a lost art. They are part of the way we express ourselves and our passion honestly.

Since it is close to Valentine’s Day, I wondered does the message of love and affection ever change? ‘No’ is the short answer. Perhaps the way we communicate has changed, but not the way we feel and sense each other. We often respond to one another with emotive and pithy responses and the unstructured flow of answers and responses that are lightening fast --- especially in SL, where bonds are sometimes so ephemeral… yet, we have all made friends we cherish and will never meet.

If you are like me, then sometimes you feel we are awash with impersonal communication. It often leaves me feeling confused and lonely. And, that is ok. This Valentine’s Day BOSL could give you a million quotes from a million peeps but we won’t that is not the point; we are here to inspire you.

We want you to dig into your heart and soul and send a love letter. We want you to surprise yourself and someone you love, because life is full of joy and moments, loving and... Ok, sometimes it is precarious; the point is you take the chance, and you express your love and gratitude.

Call me old fashioned, but I like love letters. Let’s make sure they don’t become a lost art: send one to your mom, dad, sister, cousin, best friend, lover, partner… you get the idea.
