A MAGNIFICENT MIND...ROSABELLA

Sita Writer

Sometimes, you enter a world created by a 3D builder and are astounded, no matter how many years you have been in SL. King Kong Jungle is one of those places where a creative mind has taken hold and gone wild. Rosabella’s creativity was recognized, as she won a SLEA Endowment Award for his exhibit called Immersion 2. “I was so appreciative of winning that award. Over the moon, in fact, and so excited to do something for me that I was so passionate about. What it meant to me is that I had a challenge in front of me to prove that I was capable of bringing something different to the art world in SL, something that hadn’t been done before. I needed to be able to blend in everything I had placed into my application without fail…and I am happy to see the judges agreed that I did.”

When asked what inspires her, Rosabella replies, “My wild imagination, mostly, and my love of creating something others will enjoy and interact in so that they can be themselves and have happiness while being in a place they truly feel they belong.”

The Uhre King King Jungle turned six years old in 2021 and now has the highlight of Atlantis City, a spectacular underwater world. In addition to these two areas, Rosabella has four full sim-sized cities including The Big Apple New York City, Beverly Hills, Tropical City, and A Touch of France, which is an art hub brimming with fine art galleries and museums. When asked how Rosabella feels about her Sims, “We have wonderful communities of wonderful, kind, loving, and very caring and supportive people. We run events all week, but we don’t over do them, so we all get our peaceful times to relax at home, too.” When thinking about a new build, we asked Rosabella what inspires her to build, [he/she] replied “When I am thinking about a new build, my mind jumps from one thing to another to sort out what the idea is and how to make that a reality in this virtual world. So if there was a window you could open to see inside my mind, you would see this— ‘Ok, what is it I want to achieve here? What do I know about it? How big do I want it? How long have I got to build that and when? Buildings? People? Landscaping? Ok, interaction? Fun things? All right, all that is figured out now… let’s build!’ I choose to do my builds now over three to four weeks, as my schedule is booked up with DJ and host work so I don’t get much time to really build like I used to.” Rosabella builds a variety of things. Most recently, she is building a platform for a major designer every three months so SL’s models can walk the catwalk in fashion shows.

In regard to building, Rosabella advises, “Take a dive into the unknown waters and feel your way through what ever it is you want to achieve without fear of judgment or failure, because it will always be your masterpiece that no one person could replicate exactly the same.”

Looking back at all her accomplishments, Rosabella wants to continue to give opportunities to others in art without any expense or commission from them. “I have been doing this for years. I know there are many people who have dreamed in real life of doing something and never had the chance or opportunity to do it. I love it when I meet someone in a situation like that. All I say is, ‘ok, lets see if we can make that a reality for you shall we?’ Hearing the smile and feeling their gratitude is really lovely. I also want to

continue to bring builds on a larger scale; for instance, instead of having all my cities on one sim like I do now, I want to have them on one full sim each, sideby-side with water in between to sail from New York to the jungle.”

These sound like amazing works in progress, ones that will give back so much creativity to SL peeps!
