ANGELS AIRPORTS AND MARINAS

ANGELS AIRPORTS & MARINAS

Compe Lockwood

With 27 sims covering all aspects of air travel, marina lifestyles, outer space, and more, Angels Airports and Marinas is more than a portal. It is a destination.

For many, this massive expanse is their Second Life-- they go nowhere else. The pilot community consists of seasoned pros who command the skies, while newbie flyers seek the clouds and occasionally learn about gravity the hard way.

Marinas are stocked with ocean-going vessels, yachts, outboard motor boats, and sailors with skills ranging from Sinbad to Gilligan. All are welcomed here, including you.

The best place to start is the Teleporter Hub, but you don’t have to. “We never force anybody to a teleport spot,” notes the site’s co-owner, PriMcess Dolly. “That gets annoying.”

Most visitors opt to fly, float, or hop freely from Angels’ many sims. But the Hub provides teleports to any Angels location, which is quite a task. Standing before you is a gateway-- about two dozen portal “pictures” covering a wide selection of airports and marinas. Just walk into one of the images and become a part of it. Waiting on the other side is your landing point of choice.

Set sail for adventure beyond. Fly among the clouds in crystal blue skies or into the blackness of space. Likeminded friends await at each turn. “We have many reallife pilots visiting,” notes Angels’ Co-founder, Quianna. “They are quite happy. But we listen very carefully to their suggestions and comments. We are committed to continuous improvement.”

DETAILED AND FEATURE LOADED ACTIVITIES.

Dolly adds, “We constantly update and refine all sims. We watch how our places are used and make changes if needed based on our communities’ suggestions.”

What community members and visitors will tell you is that Angels Airports and Marinas offer the most detailed and feature-loaded activities in SL. Planes really fly. Baggage moves on conveyor belts, runways are clear for takeoff, and unlike real life airports, Angels’ vending machines really work! I got a virtual can of Mountain Dew and a bag of Skittles to prove it.

Visitors rezz personal aircraft. For the inexperienced, or those wanting refresher training, flying lessons are taught on site. Hangers are available for rental as well as berths and docks for boats in the marinas.

Team Dolly and Quianna’s undertaking is a continuous labor of love and years in the making. “We

progressively built and acquired sims over the past three years,” Quianna notes. “People can park their planes on all Angels airports and fly or land and use our gates and terminals.”

All phases of airport life are available. Many are interactive.

Fueling stations, cargo handling areas, runways, and teller booths are here, as well. If this airport was any more real, it would lose your luggage.

But I know what you’re saying: “anybody can visit an airport. What’s so special about these?” For starters, this is Second Life. Unlike real life counterparts,Angels Airports include a site that is out of this world-- literally. You can book a flight to Mars.

RUNWAYS ARE CLEAR FOR TAKEOFF.

Welcome to Angels N1- Space Station and Red Planet. Pro tip: Pan out as you approach Mars for final docking to behold the most realistic space sim in Second Life.

The Mars base is compartmentalized capsules connected by sealed doors. The complex includes teleporters - the kind Captain Kirk uses, not SL (though it has those, too). A laboratory is here, though I’m not sure what scientists are studying-- or if I want to know. And a nice nearby café offers the tastiest salads available beyond Earth’s atmosphere.

In addition to Mars Base, one can explore the SS Karu Space Station.

And who among us has not longed for a leisure day on a luxury yacht after a day of space travel? Angels fills that need with marinas from practical to exquisite. Docks are available for watercraft, and apartments are ready to rent. Gathering places for friends to socialize and swap tales of days at sea, air, or space are popular, too.

Finally, check out the Aldarion - Fantasy - Adult Fullers Hart. A village which largely exists in dreams both cyber and real.

From land, sea, and air, Angels wings its way into our virtual lives as we fly the friendly skies of Second Life. Buckle up. The sky’s the limit.
