LITTLE ABOUT ME
For someone who is pretty self-aware, I was pretty clueless about my passion for photography until I began photographing a model. I had taken pictures at concerts, photos of flowers, snapshots of friends, but the first time someone posed for me, something in me came to life. When I began shooting families and newborns I knew I had found my truest passion and purpose in life. I am a storyteller, more than I am a photographer. I find meaning in music, movement and visual art. My clients are like magic in front of my lens when they are being entirely themselves. I capture your family as you envision them in your mind. And then you get to put those images up on your walls as a testament to this beautiful entity that your family is. Whether your story is just beginning or it’s growing faster than you can imagine, it is my honor to help you tell it.

YOUR SESSION
It is never too early to book a session and it is best to book your session while you are still pregnant (ideally in your third trimester). If baby decides to come early or late contact me ASAP and we will adjust our session date. When scheduling, it is very important to have the shoot within the first 10 days of life if possible. During the first 10 days babies are more curled up and sleep easily while being moved around. After 10 days, newborns tend to develop things like colic and baby acne, they also tend to be more alert and stay awake longer. Newborn sessions are not impossible after their first 10 days, it’s just harder on the photographer and the baby, because baby is more aware.
D URING
A SESSION
During your session, I will pose and handle your baby with the utmost care. We’ll do any photos with mom, dad, siblings and baby first, so that after that you can relax and read a book or catch up on emails and facebook while I photograph your new baby (if you fall asleep, don’t worry, you are not the first one to catch up on much needed z’s). We follow baby’s lead, and feed, sleep and snuggle on their schedule so be prepeared for the sessions to last anywhere from 2-4 hours. Ideally make sure you feed the baby prior to the session as well . The studio temperature will be really high, so your baby can be nice and warm, as they cannot regulate their temperature at this time. Dress in layers for your own comfort. During the studio session I will begin by photographing your baby on my bean bag, using a variety of blankest and wraps. After the bean bag poses are achieved, I will photograph your newborn in the props that I have chosen.. Accidents happen so if I get peed or poo’d on or my props do, please don’t worry about it! It’s all part of my job and it wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened! No outside cameras, videos or cell phone cameras are allowed to be used during the session.
ALL I ASK YOU TO DO DURING THE SESSION IS TO RELAX WHILE I HANDLE YOUR BABY WITH THE UTMOST CARE.
D IGITAL P ACKAGES Each Digital Package comes with 2-4 hours session in studio, with full access to props and my expertise in newborn safety, and you will have a gallery of 25(minimum) images to choose from. Also included (at no extra charge) is your choice of 25 Birth Announcements, 3 Mini Albums OR 3 5x7 Lustre Prints. A discount is also included for a Luxury Product if you wish to purchase one as well. There are no session fees, so these prices are exactly what you will be paying to get the product you choose!

W HEN
IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK A SESSION
?
I encourage you to book your newborn photo session at least 30 days prior to your baby’s due date. Your “due date” will be placed on our calendar and we will be looking forward to hearing from you just as soon as the baby is born. Once the baby is born we will schedule the session within 10 days of baby’s arrival as this time frame is the key to having a successful newborn photo shoot and achieving those “sleepy, curled up poses”.

LONG DOES THE NEWBORN SESSION LAST?
Newborn photography sessions take anywhere from 2-4 hours, depending on the baby’s disposition. Multiple newborns may take even longer. I will allow enough time for feeding and comforting. Baby’s comfort and safety is my number one priority. Don’t stress out if your session is taking a long time. I have blocked out at least half a day to do your session.
H OW
CAN WE GET BABY TO SLEEP DURING THE SESSION?
I highly recommend trying to keep your baby awake in the couple hours leading up to the session. Some tips to keep your baby awake are: play with baby, give your baby a bath before the session - whatever it takes to keep baby alert for an hour or two. Then, when baby arrives in my studio, he/she will be ready for a long nap!

I BRING SPECIAL PROPS/ HEIRLOOMS TO THE SESSION?
Yes of course ! I encourage my clients to bring a little something to incorporate in the session . I just ask that you let me know ahead of time so that I can incorporate it into my plans, but if you have forgotten, I think fast on my feet so still bring it!

LONG AFTER THE SESSION CAN WE EXPECT IMAGES
?
I will provide you with one sneak peek from the session shortly after the session by posting it to my Facebook page (unless you specify not to. Then I will carefully select and edit your images. Approximately 2-3 weeks after your photo session, we will meet again for your Proofing Appointment.

FAMILY PHOTOS INCLUDED IN THE SESSION

A special part of a newborn session is devoted to capturing the priceless images of a father and a mother with their precious new son or daughter. So yes we definitely will be capturing your first family portrait. If you aren’t feeling up to having the photos done, please remember these family photos are not just for you, and they will mean a lot to your newborn child as they grow up.
