EDITION w CHAPTER II
w
n 2021, our appetite for dream trips is stronger than ever.
We believe that where you choose to travel is important. But it is how you travel that makes all the difference. After months of deprivation, we fancy taking a trip from Paris to Bhutan ! Or a simple charming city break in Copenhagen to say hello to the Little Mairmaid?... Because time has come to sit back comfortably and sip a cocktail with friends on a rooftop in Abu Dhabi or anywhere in the savannah of Namibia watching sunset. More international readers come to us for our knowledge, our honest opinions and our discerning judgments. We like to think that it is not « what » we offer that makes us special, but « how » we offer it to our readers: with heart and with real passion. My team and I endeavor to offer travel suggestions that are insightful, enriching and eyeopening. We strive to bring alive the place you are visiting and we want you to find its spirit and its magic, on your own terms. By making you discover our selection of the very best properties and destinations, we give you access to a varied range of unique stays in unique places. Yes, we have been honored with international recognitions this year, and for that we are deeply appreciative. Once again, in this new issue - ODE Chapter II – we have decided to explore new horizons and to turn your time into priceless memories that you will cherish for the rest of your life. Wishing you all a very happy and healthy year. All the best,
Yamilé

Bhutan Immerse yourself in Bhutan’s cultural heritage and extraordinary landscape with ‘Himalayan Discovery’ package, which focuses on Paro Valley. Based at COMO Uma Paro, which is close to the international airport, you will see the country’s main cultural highlights, including the remarkable Taktsang ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery. There is guided hiking and a chance to get into the wilds while moving at a pace that allows for acclimation.
AT A GLANCE Bhutan, officially known as the Kingdom of Bhutan is a landlocked country in the Eastern Himalayas. It is bordered by China to the north and India to the south. Nepal and Bangladesh are located in proximity to Bhutan but do not share a land border. The country has a population of over 754,000 and a territory of 38,394 square kilometers (14,824 sq mi). Bhutan is a constitutional monarchy with Vajrayana Buddhism as the state religion. The subalpine Himalayan mountains in the north rise from the country's lush subtropical plains in the south. In the Bhutanese Himalayas, there are peaks higher than 7,000 meters (23,000 ft) above sea level. Gangkhar Puensum is Bhutan's highest peak and may also be the highest unclimbed mountain in the world. The wildlife of Bhutan is notable for its diversity, including the Himalayan takin. The largest city in Bhutan is the capital Thimphu. Bhutan and neighboring Tibet experienced the spread of Buddhism. Location: The airport at Paro is a 10-minute drive from COMO Uma Paro and around five hours by car from COMO Uma Punakha. Transport between the resorts is by car, and arranged by COMO Uma Bhutan staff. It is not possible to hire cars for private use in Bhutan.

Since 1927 La Brasserie La Coupole has been a symbol of the history of Montparnasse. In an art deco decor, listed as a historical heritage, the Chef offers essential dishes from the great Parisian Brasseries such as the Grenoble-style stripe, the real pepper steak and the seafood platters
Secret Paris streets People around the world are familiar with the usual pictures and clichéd images of romance in Paris, but lovebirds in search of tranquillity will find plenty of romantic spots off the beaten track. Rue des Thermopyles, a cobblestone street, is an oasis of calm and greenery in the 14th arrondissement, offering a glimpse of a bucolic side to Paris, like the Cité Florale in the 13th, where even the street names – Orchidées, Volubilis, Mimosas, Glycines, Iris, Liserons – evoke the fragrance of flowers. Rue Crémieux, a stone’s throw from the Gare de Lyon, provides a colourful excursion for people with a taste for the unusual. And then there’s the Square de Montsouris, formerly inhabited by several artists, with its houses draped in wisteria and ivy. Enjoy the birds singing in some of the city’s more unspoilt sites, such as the Mouzaïa district, in the 19th arrondissement, or the Campagne à Paris (the countryside in Paris), rue Jules Siegfried, in the 20th. The houses are tucked away at the end of small gardens and ivy covers the wooden doors and shutters.

What can you say about Paris that hasn’t already been said? Yes, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. Of course, the Louvre Museum and the Champs-Élysées are spectacular. But what about the hidden gems concealed within the City of Love? Grandiose gardens, tucked-away squares, and glowing monuments sitting along the Seine river are just a few reasons Paris is a recipe for romance. From boutique beauties to magnificent manors, Paris is the most romantic city in the world! Every year, couples in love from all over the world come to stroll around the city of light, enjoy themselves and express their love for each other. Valentine’s Day goes on all month long and Paris is a place where everything is possible.
Pont Alexandre III - This unique Beaux-Arts- style bridge connects the Left and Right Banks of Paris, and is one of the biggest tourist photo-ops in the city.

JoëlR obuchon
THE CHEF WITH THE MOST STARS IN THE WORLD
The chef with the most Michelin stars ! Joël Robuchon holds the number one spot among the top 10 chefs in the world, which makes him the best chef in the world according to the Michelin star rating. Although he died (2018) with “only” 28 stars, at one point, Robuchon was the proud owner of 32. He was also named “Chef of the Century” on numerous occasions. He specialized in French cuisine and owned 12 restaurants. Joël also liked to mentor young chefs. One of his former students was the now infamous Gordon Ramsay. Nowadays, a chain of famous restaurants was named after French chef cook Joël Robuchon. Twelve restaurants in the world with delicious French cuisine have the name L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon. They are located in big cities, namely Hong Kong, Paris, New York City, Shanghai, Taipei, Bangkok, Montreal, Tokyo, and Singapore. One of these outstanding restaurants is also located in the world-famous casino place Las Vegas, as reported by Casino Valley . Chef Joël Robuchon, the owner of the restaurants, where French haute cuisine is served, used creativity while designing the places. That’s why the interior also deserves attention. Most of the tables are put in an unusual way so the visitors can see how the food is being prepared. The word “L’Atelier” can be translated as “workshop”. Actually, the word “atelier” itself refers to an artist’s workshop in the decorative or fine arts.

THE FRENCH PASTRY CHEF LIKE NO OTHER
Cy ril Lignac THE RESTAURANT AUX PRES, PARIS
BABA AU RHUM
LEMON PIE EQUINOXE
Cyril Lignac’s culinary vocation was undoubtedly shaped by his upbringing in Aveyron, a centre of French gastronomic culture in south-central France. In 2005 that everything changed for Cyril Lignac. Talent-spotted by a TV producer, he began presenting his own cooking show, Oui, Chef!, a French version of Jamie’s Kitchen, which allowed him to open his first restaurant, Le Quinzième – One Michelin star - The Chef revealed his entrepreneurial skills by taking over Parisian institution Le Chardenoux, in the 11th arrondissement, before crossing the Seine to the heart of Saint-Germain-desPrés and opening Aux Prés, redeveloping another celebrated Parisian bistro. In parallel, he launched a “sweet adventure” in 2011 in collaboration with chef pâtissier Benoît Couvrand with La Pâtisserie & La Chocolaterie Cyril Lignac. His latest venture, his first restaurant outside France, will open in 2021: the Bar des Prés London, a smart, new version of his Parisian original, in the heart of Mayfair.
‟
THE RESTAURANT LE CHARDENOUX, PARIS From the decorative foliated ceiling to the listed marble bar front, the new interior scheme introduces elegance to the space. Designed with charm and heritage in mind, the traditional features are highlighted with a modern twist. In the same spirit as the decoration and atmosphere, the cuisine – dedicated to fresh fish, focuses on mastered traditional French cooking techniques and modernized versions. Over 100 years, the restaurant has kept its authentic values with innovative seafood cuisine.

On sunny days, terraces on Paris streets are a favourite spot for lovers. Restaurants and cafés set out tables as soon as the weather begins to warm up. What could be more romantic than dining or sipping a drink outdoors as the sun goes down? The Provençal charm of Le Sud will transport foodies to the South of France. The Café des Marronniers boasts an idyllic location in the heart of the Jardin des Tuileries. At the beautiful art deco restaurant La Coupole, you can enjoy a seafood platter on a terrace while watching the bustle of the Boulevard Montparnasse. Les Ombres, the rooftop restaurant at the Musée du Quai Branly, offers a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night. The patio of the Brasserie Barbès is a favourite with fans of traditional Parisian brasserie fare. If you’re looking for a good place to sip a drink in the company of your beloved, it’s hard to beat the lively, friendly atmosphere of the terrace of the Grand Marché Stalingrad, a short distance from the Bassin de la Villette. The Jardins du Marais is one of the largest private gardens in the French capital, dotted with potted palms and cosy little seating areas in summer.

Chef Juan Arbelaez brings Cartagena in Paris !
"What I research is above all to do travel the client in the heat and authenticity from Colombia, to the opposite of clichés. We revisit my culinary specialties Colombians with a modern touch French-style. "
// trend y
.
At Bazurto we find a digest of Cartagena in Paris: explosive land / sea cuisine over a wood fire, strong flavors and seasonings, sun and above all a legendary crazy mood: welcome in Colombia at 5 rue de l'Ancienne Comédie, Paris 6! Bazurto is inspired by the "Mercado Loco" (dixit Juan Arbelaez), one of Cartagena's hidden gems. A popular and crazy market of yesteryear full of all types of products, smells, musics. Populations and activities intersect like cooking, dancing, colorful vegetables. A mystical place and overflowing with energy, like the the chef's colorful and lively personality. A COCKTAIL BAR IN THE COLORS OF LATIN AMERICA ! In the evening, the cocktail bar takes its place and welcomes you in a warm atmosphere
Let’s strat your journey with some empanadas or carimañolas available in several recipes. And continue traveling with the traditional French white fish ceviche, leche del tigre, lime, choclo and cancha corn, potato sweet and coriander or "Lomo al Trapo" the piece of beef in a salt crust placed directly on the coals served with a chimichurri sauce or corn risotto burnt, coriander and lemon caviar. And land with the chocolate dessert, lucuma and Yuca crumble.

Inspired by the tropical and signature Indian Ocean experiences, the collection ranges from a special jewellery range to beachwear and accessories, exclusively available at One&Only Reethi Rah. The bright and rich colors of these stones, reminiscent of summer, sun and sea, blend perfectly with the white sandy beaches of the resort, turquoise waters and the world-famous Maldivian sunsets. These shades have become the main palate for the clothing and accessories. ‘As a pinnacle of new and exciting experiences and a trend-setter in the Maldives, we are delighted to offer this new exclusive collection’ says Jan Tibaldi, General Manager of One&Only Reethi Rah. ‘I am certain that our guests will revel in the beauty of this brand and enjoy taking home iconic pieces that encapsulate their memories of One&Only and of course the Maldives!’ A new hotspot is emerging on the Maldives fashion map at One&Only Reethi Rah, with guests being able to acquire a unique piece from the exclusive collection, that provides a nod to the unforgettable memories of One&Only Reethi Rah. Noma Chef René Redzepi is one of the most famous people in Denmark
Michelin-starred 4 times awarded ‘ the best restaurant in the World ‘ NOMA turned Denmark into a gastro-nation
You've probably heard of noma, which got its name from the intersection of the words “nordic” and “fool” (meaning “food”). But being able to eat is another matter! But those who can book in advance will have an extraordinary dining experience.
Reopened in February 2018 in a new location and with a new menu, noma is in the race to recover the two Michelin stars that it abandoned by temporarily closing its doors. Superchef René Redzepi still manages the restaurant's kitchen, thanks to the experience gained in some of the best restaurants in the world. But noma is not about fusion cuisine, it is new Nordic cuisine.

Rapidly becoming a must-visit destination, Copenhagen offers plenty of activities for its tourists. Between nordic culture, design and cuisine... Sometimes nicknamed the "Venice of the North", Copenhagen a city where water is everywhere and canal tours are a great way to explore the city, as they go past most of the famous places, such as the Opera House, the Black Diamond Library and the Little Mermaid.
Strolling around the Nyhavn canal is a fine way to admire a palette of colours in a warm and friendly setting.
If there ever was a city to visit for people who love cycling, it should be Copenhagen. It is the most popular means of transport in the city, as 62% of people ride a bike for their commutes. It is without a doubt one of the most cycle-friendly city in the world, as it has entire parts of its roads dedicated to cycling, gives the priority to cyclists over other vehicles, and even has some special "bike bridges".
Copenhagen is divided into a pack of very different yet equally loveable neighbourhoods, each with their own distinct vibes and looks. From gritty and industrial RefshaleOen to posh and classy Frederiksberg , Copenhagen has a neighbourhood to fit any liking.

Home to kings queens and vikings
The Little Mermaid
Arguably one of Copenhagen's most iconic tourist attractions: The sculpture of The Little Mermaid was inspired by Andersen’s famous fairy tale. Unveiled on 23 August 1913, The Little Mermaid was a gift from Danish brewer Carl Jacobsen to the City of Copenhagen. The sculpture is made of bronze and granite and was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale about a mermaid who gives up everything to be united with a young, handsome prince on land. Every morning and evening she swims to the surface from the bottom of the sea and, perched on her rock in the water, she stares longingly towards the shore hoping to catch a glimpse of her beloved prince.
Did you know The Vikings were superb shipbuilders and sailors. Their finely crafted longships gave them the advantage needed to conquer by sea.
Copenhagen is Denmark’s largest city, and its history goes way back. The city houses one of the oldest monarchies in the world and has a history tracing back to the Viking Age. History is everywhere in Copenhagen and the surrounding areas, where you will find old castles, cobbled streets, and ancient ships. Today Copenhagen is a welcoming and friendly city, but in past years the locals were feared far from the Danish shores.
Ørestad Urban nature and world class architechture
Amager is so much its own creature and yet still such an integral part of the city. Consisting of a few areas, incuding East Amager, Islands Brygge and Ørestad. Gastronomy, liveability and life on the water is booming out there. Whatever the period chosen for strolling in Copenhagen, you cannot help being seduced by its gentleness and friendliness, which the Danes call hygge, an expression that means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the present moment with good people. To counter the cold to which the Scandinavian regions are prone, the city is draped in multiple colours. The most famous example is the picturesque Nyhavn harbour district, where Hans Christian Andersen lived for 18 years and where the colourful facades are reflected on the waters of the canal. But you can admire dollhouse architecture everywhere in Copenhagen, with elegant brick buildings covered in pretty pastel colours. The city hosted the 2009 United Nations summit on global warming, and a respectful relationship with the environment is very apparent, as bicycles are king. You will have no trouble finding a rental store, so like any good self-respecting Copenhagener, take the opportunity to ride a bike. It will be your best ally for discovering Copenhagen's secrets, as you ride through its many cobbled streets. The numerous bars and restaurants reflect the cosmopolitan richness of the city, a legacy of long ago when Copenhagen was only a small port of merchants, founded by the Vikings. After your tour by bike, relax around a good beer brewed on site and enjoy a smorrebrod, a slice of buttered bread accompanied with fresh products that will delight your taste buds with their simplicity and quality. Welcome to the capital of Denmark, which has made pampering a real lifestyle!

Mellanie Gandø SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst SMK (The National gallery of Denmark) is the largest art museum in Denmark. The collections show a rich and varied selection of art – from the European classics of the Renaissance to the overwhelming diversity of modern and contemporary art. The history of the museum is inextricably bound up with the history of the art collections amassed by Danish monarchs. That is why the story of the museum does not begin with the building in Sølvgade, but hundreds of years before that with the art chambers of the Danish monarchs. SMK is especially famous for its beautiful collection of Danish Golden Age art, the country’s most comprehensive collection of Danish contemporary art – and one of the world’s best Matisse collections. The museum architecture The museum architecture is a marriage of old and new and an attraction in itself. The old museum building dates back to 1896 and was designed by the architect J. Vilhelm Dahlerup. This building reflects the exuberant joy – so typical of the period – taken in mixing several historical styles. This is most clearly evident from the richly decorated facade and the imposing entrance, which makes for a solemn transition from the outside world into the museum collections. The museum was short of space from the very beginning. And in 1998 an extension has provided the museum with a significant – and much-needed – increase in the exhibition space available. The magnificent, modernist extension building is situated in parallel with Dahlerup's old museum, opening the house up towards the surrounding parkland. The architect Anna Maria Indrio from the major Danish firm of architects C.F. Møllers tegnestue created the new architecture.
Danish people create some pretty impressive designs, and furniture shops and design shops in Denmark are some of the best in the world. You can even head to the Designmuseum, which offers a lot of variety in its collections, from furniture to ceramics, fashion, textiles and digital design.

Ideally located in the hip Vesterbro district, the 390-room hotel is an incredible manifesto dedicated to Danish hospitality. A masterpiece of finesse and Nordic aesthetics! Despite its grand setting and historic touch, the type of luxury offered at the Villa is accessible and welcoming. The space is a beautiful backdrop with an intimate atmosphere. In the very heart of Copenhagen in magical Tivoli Gardens, you find Nimb’s gastronomic universe with everything a culinary soul can desire. From French cuisine at Nimb Brasserie to Danish open-faced sandwiches and dinner classics at Fru Nimb. From flavoursome seasonal dishes in Gemyse’s leafy green oasis to everyday luxury at café Crème by Nimb. A magical atmosphere and perfectly balanced cocktails in the city's most exclusive hotel bar, under the old ballroom's crystal chandeliers. Drink, dream and return the next day for the adventurous Afternoon Tea.
The beautiful murals in Nimb Bar were created by artist Cathrine Raben Davidsen. Cathrine was trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from where she graduated in 2003. The classic myths are a recurrent source of inspiration in her art, and in Nimb Bar her murals from 2008 depict the Greek myth of the sisters Philomela and Procne.

Nimb
hotel
Credit: TIVOLI GARDENS / PHOTO: LASSE SALLING
Built as a castle in 1909, Nimb Hotel manages to preserve its grand Moorish past while embracing modern-day Scandinavian style, and the contrast is brilliant: domes, spires, almond windows, and gleaming white on one side, modernist lattice-work and green-tangled terraces on the other (not to mention, the peacocks down below). This is a beautiful, comfortable, creative hotel next to twirling, pagoda-pocked Tivoli Gardens. It has one of Copenhagen’s most beautiful bars, and a rare-for-the-city rooftop pool. And while the city is known for its food scene, the hotel may give you a reason (or a few) not to sample it more fully: There’s fried lobster at Nimb Brasserie, openfaced sandwiches at Fru Nimb, and carrot tartare at Gemyse, an organic-vegetable haven, as well as steaks at Bar’N’Grill and whimsical whipped cream treats at Cakenhagen.
Michelin star pop ups to open in Tivoli Gardens All throughout summer, the iconic Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen will serve up Michelin star meals to their guests. Danish two-star AOC will be the first one to take over Tivoli’s Japanese Tower from 1 June 2021. The place is among the classics on the new Nordic scene and has been operating under the name AOC since 2009. For the Tivoli pop up, they also plan to do a cocktail and wine bar and menu with smaller courses. From the 9 July 2021, KOKS will take over from AOC. The two-Michelin star restaurant is normally located completely isolated in the rolling hills of the Faroe Islands, but now they will present their signature cooking to Tivoli’s guests. The menu is based on unique Faroese flavors and produce with a particular focus on fish and sea food. The pop up restaurants will not the existing menus of the two restaurants, but instead a more simple and also affordable version making the fine dining available to an even wider audience. The pop ups can thereby be seen as the tendency for Danish top restaurants to make their dining more available through initiatives like Noma’s burger bar POPL and Amass Fried Chicken.
Enjoy a good cup of coffee or a glass of champagne in the beautiful Nimb Bar. The crystal chandeliers, the lounge music and the crackling fireplace gives you the perfect setting for a calm break.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises announced its return to sailing with Seven Seas Splendor cruising from the UK beginning September 2021. The voyage will mark the cruise line’s return to service, as well as Seven Seas Splendor’s inaugural season, with the ship having only completed two cruises with guests after being christened in February 2020. With a phased return to sailing for the rest of the fleet, luxury travelers will soon be able to once again enjoy the unrivaled Regent experience with the peace of mind that comes with the multi-layered SailSafe health and safety program. “Come September we will have the double celebration of our return to the seas as we also recommence the inaugural season of the ship that perfects luxury, Seven Seas Splendor,” said Jason Montague, president and chief executive officer, Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “With immaculate design, luxurious suites, exquisite cuisine, dynamic entertainment and outstanding personalized service, Seven Seas Splendor was one of the most highly-anticipated ships to launch in the history of cruising, and my promise to our loyal and eager guests is that without a doubt she will be worth the wait.” The cruise line intends to preserve originally planned itineraries, as much as the global health environment at the time allows, presenting guests with the exceptional cruise and destination experience which they have come to expect from Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The first cruise in her inaugural season has Seven Seas Splendor scheduled to set sail September 11, 2021 for an 11-night voyage, round-trip from Southampton, England visiting Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland. After her initial voyage, the ship will transition to explore the beautiful Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to sail in the Caribbean. While many of her sailings are already sold out, there are still opportunities to cruise later in Seven Seas Splendor’s European season, and in the Caribbean early 2022.

GARDENS A TRIBUTE TO THE FLORAL KINGDOM
THE RESTAURANT AT CAVALLI Launched in November 2013, the restaurant at Cavalli has already established itself as a premier dining destination in the Western Cape. Headed by Calum Anderson, Cavalli’s approach to cuisine can be described as ‘modern, global cuisine’, inspired by a focus on heritage as it draws upon the fresh produce of Southern Africa. The menu seeks to take you on a gastronomic journey, touching on points of nostalgia. Calum and his team forage daily in the heirloom vegetable garden which they believe translates to superior flavour. Cavalli offers guests the opportunity to experience a delicious relaxed winelands lunch or a fine dining dinner paired with an expertly crafted wine list, craft beers and an impressive selection of whiskeys. As a result, the restaurant, which over looks a serene dam set against the backdrop of the magnificent Helderberg mountain range, has become a favourite among discerning foodies. The restaurant at Cavalli has also set a new benchmark for stylish winelands dining, scooping the recent prestigious Eat Out Style Award.
SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE/DESIGN
Voted South Africas most Stylish restaurant at the “Eat Out” Awards, Cavalli restaurant has quickly established itself as a must-visit dining destination in the Cape Winelands, over looking a serene dam set against the backdrop of the magnificent Helderberg mountain range, and has quickly become a favourite among discerning foodies countrywide.

SOUTH AFRICA
within this wilderness Londolozi is situated on the banks of the Sand River, in the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. Going on safari at Londolozi allows you to have an exclusive and luxurious experience of the area.
The Londolozi Reserve, a pioneer in ecotourism in South Africa, is internationally recognized for its far-sighted and progressive land and wildlife management.
Pioneer Camp’s three interconnected luxury suites and generous bush homestead makes this the most secluded and flexible of the Londolozi Camps. The private suites have superb river views and are perfect for honeymoons and secluded getaways. The Camp can easily be converted into a bush homestead for private multi-generational family groups of between 6 and 12 people. The inspiration for the refreshed look was to weave the Ralph Lauren style into the original safari homestead resulting in the classic layering of signature textures and iconic features which reflect an African heart. Londolozi re-uses, re-engineers and restores the original feeling of an African Safari Camp. Pioneer Camp carries all the elements of authentic bushveld living, clean lines, simple timeless and classic elegance with a touch of crystal.A sense of history pervades the camp through faithfully restored memorabilia, photographs, leather and a bespoke one-of-akind wallpaper that lines the Pioneer Camp bar and tells a story of the lives of safari pioneers from just under a century ago.
The word Londolozi comes from a Zulu word and means ‘Protector Of All Living Things’

stunning buildings
Set to be completed in 2021, the mixed-use project will contain apartments, shops, offices, cultural institutes, and a creative centre, the building has reached its highest point of 103 meters in Amsterdam’s Zuidas district. "Started construction in 2017, the 75,000-square-metre project is designed for EDGE Technologies, the project will bring much-needed greening to Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district thanks to its landscape of jagged stone terraces, bay-windows, and balconies, with dense planting designed by landscape architect Piet Oudolf."

Quzhou King Abdullah Financial District Metro Station Riyadh, Saudi Arabia by Zaha Hadid Architects - King Abdullah Financial District Metro Station by Zaha Hadid Architects is designed by using a set of parametric design principles and BIM modeling to acquire the accurate construction model on site. Currently under construction in Riyadh, the metro station was documented by Riyadhbased photographer Faisal BinZarah in July 2019 and this photo shows that the panels were started to be applied on top of the structure. The project was commissioned by the ArRiyadh Development Authority in 2012, the 45,000-square-metre metro station is designed to meet the increasing number of residents (expected to reach 8.5 million residents with a decade) in the city of Riyadh. 2021 Following a challenging year, there are a number of stunning new museums around the world that are preparing to open their doors in 2021. Opening Gala on September 25.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Los Angeles, CA
The architectural project was curated by the Renzo Piano Workshop Building studio, which designed two edifices: The Sphere and the Saban Building. The first is a glass spherical structure containing a theater and a terrace with a panoramic view of the iconic Hollywood Hills. The Saban Building – originally built in 1939 and known as May Company Building – preserves the historical profile of its façade in 24 carat gold leaf mosaic, produced in the historical furnace Orsoni Venezia 1888 just as the original tesserae.

Humboldt Forum, Berlin The Humboldt Forum is one of the most expensive culture projects in Europe, at a cost of $825 million. Housed in a reconstructed Baroque palace, the 40,000 metre-square museum will be home to permanent displays on the history of Berlin, as well as exhibitions of non-European ethnological and Asian art. Franco Stella is the architect behind the reconstruction of the former royal palace, in a project which fuses Baroque and contemporary architecture. As well as the permanent and temporary exhibitions, visitors will be able to enjoy a selection of cafes, restaurants and a rooftop terrace.

Restaurants
‟
Tavares Rico, Lisbon, Portugal The ornate dining room at Tavares Rico, all sparkling chandeliers and gilded panels, has technically been open since 1784, but it got its look in 1861, when the restaurant says "businessman Vicente Caldeira wanted to make the house 'the most luxurious place in Lisbon.'" The four- and six-course prix fixe are equally indulgent—a mix of French and Portuguese dishes, with like classic takes on seafood and Iberian pork.
Restaurante Botín, Madrid, Spain Memorialized by frequent patron Ernest Hemingway in his book The Sun Also Rises, Madrid's Botín—open since 1725—holds the Guinness World Record for oldest restaurant. Its Castilian wood-burning oven produces legendary suckling pig and roast lamb. Union Oyster House, Boston, MA, USA This National Historic Landmark on Boston's Freedom Trail holds the distinction of being the oldest continually serving restaurant in America (est. 1826). Order a bowl of New England clam chowder (not Manhattan clam chowder, lest you get side eye), or take down an icy platter of the freshly shucked namesake.
La Tour d’Argent, Paris, France is a high end, one Michelin star rated restaurant that claims to have served King Henry IV. At one point, the restaurant boasted one of the restaurant world’s highest achievements, three Michelin stars – it lost one star in 1996 and the second one in 2006. Although the restaurant cannot prove that it served King Henry IV, other famous people like Franklin D. Roosevelt, Marlene Dietrich, and Charlie Chaplin have dined at La Tour d’Argent. The restaurant has appeared in literature such as Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast and La Tour d’Argent served as the inspiration for the restaurant featured in Pixar’s 2007 movie Ratatouille.

The
Louvre
The Louvre opens an online version of one of its art collections ! The Louvre is one of the world's most famous and most visited museums in the world. It is home to the world's most famous painting The Mona Lisa by Leanardo da Vinci. For those who have always wanted to visit the famous French museum, can now do so virtually. The Louvre's richest collection can now be viewed online, it brings together all of the museum's atworks in one place. It also has a brand new website that is much more user friendly and immersive.
The Titanic is being brought back from the deep, more than a century after its ill-fated maiden voyage, at a landlocked Chinese theme park where tourists can soon splash out for a night on a fullscale replica. The project's main backer was inspired to recreate the world's most infamous cruise liner by the 1997 box office hit of the same name -- once the world's top-grossing film and wildly popular in China. The original luxury vessel, the largest of its time and branded "unsinkable" by its owners, has become a byword for hubris ever since it plunged into the depths of the Atlantic in 1912 after striking an iceberg, leaving more than 1,500 people dead.
The
Colosseum
Rome's Colosseum is getting a makeover, it's getting a 3,000 square meter retractable floor. This new floor will allow visitors to walk across Italy's most visited attraction for the first time since the late 1800s. The Colosseum was built in 80 AD, it's a tiered seating system that seats 50,000 people, it used to have a wooden, sand-covered floor. The Colosseum was built on top of an underground complex where the wild animals that gladiators used to fight were caged, and stage sets were prepared. Crowds used to gather to watch gladiator fights either each other or wild animals. The last gladiator battles were fought in the fifth century AD. The original floor was removed when archeologists began to excavate the subterranean levels.
