PLAYA DEL REY Playa Del Rey is a beautiful beach town just north of the Los Angeles International Airport. Play Del Rey got its reputation for being a surfer's beach in the 1950's and there are still some great surfing spots today. The beach itself offers volleyball courts, a long paved bike path, a grass park, and basketball courts. For days not spent on the beach, take in the views or a tour of the Ballona Freshwater Marsh, one of the last remaining saltwater wetlands in Southern California.
