transformational efforts and achievements of Lebanon College. As you will see in this newsletter, we have a lot to celebrate. The College’s accreditations have been renewed and new partnerships with 4-year institutions have been established to facilitate student-transfer among colleges. We are moving quickly to develop action plans for short-term and long-term growth, strengthening our curricula, and continuing to reach out to students of all ages.
On June 5th, fifty students in 11 different programs of study graduated from Lebanon College. Of those 50 graduates over 60% were employed at the time of graduation, with 38% looking to change their career into their field of study. JRCERT Accreditation Renewed. The Radiography program has received a new three year grant of accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Program Director, Lisa Larson, Dean, Bruce Gordon, Ph.D., and Department Chair, Flora Meyer for all their hard work! Over the summer, the college has been busy forming articulation agreements with a number of local universities. This means that a student can get their associate’s degree from Lebanon College and seamlessly transfer their credits into a

What I have enjoyed the most, during my first three months here, beside the astonishing beauty of the Upper Valley, are the sounds that spill out of the College’s classrooms during the evening. I love the diversity and enthusiasm of our students and would like to be surrounded by them all day long. To that end, we are preparing to offer more classes during daytime and Saturdays. Enrollment of matriculated students in degree-programs continues to increase and we plan to expand the “personal enrichment” course offerings. Please take a minute to complete the enclosed Enrichment Course Survey and send it back to us. I would like to take this opportunity to invite all alumni/ae to
reconnect to Lebanon College. As you will read in this newsletter, the Lebanon College Alumni Association (LCAA) has just been formed and you are invited to assume a leadership role. By joining the LCAA you will not only reconnect with friends from the past but also will help to shape the College’s future. I look forward to meeting you in person! Sincerely, Dr. Graziella “Ella” Saccon

K
aren, who was born and raised in Orford, New Hampshire, is a proud Alumna of Lebanon College. After living for 17 years in Las Vegas, Karen moved back to her hometown in 2002. In 2006, her employer was sold and she was faced with finding a new career. Karen found a medical secretary position at DHMC and was sent to Lebanon College as part of her training for her new job. A bit intimidated at first, and juggling a busy schedule she wasn’t sure how she was going to find time to do her class work. Karen found that the small class sizes at the college helped her immensely. She felt that she got the personal attention she needed to get through her classes. Karen thoroughly enjoyed her time at Lebanon College and absolutely loves her new career. She has even been contemplating returning to take more classes. The fire has been lit.

He has been working for the past five years at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, VT as a Radiography Technician. Jason, a member of the second graduating class in the Radiography program at Lebanon College feels that he wouldn’t have the job he has today if it wasn’t for the Radiography program. He did a good amount of his clinicals at Central Vermont Medical Center and their familiarity with his work really helped him secure employment there. Jason is looking forward to finishing with his bachelor’s degree and starting the next stage in his career.
bachelor’s degree program at the College of St. Josephs in Rutland, Vermont, New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, and Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire. These agreements can save students thousands on tuition and Southern New Hampshire University is offering a $15,000 scholarship to a Lebanon College student who transfers credits. The possibility for our students to continue with their postsecondary education after they leave the college is something we are very proud of.
