The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana Young Professionals (HCYP) is the next generation of business and professional leaders in the Hispanic community.

The driving force behind this initiative is a diverse group of individuals working to provide a platform to young professionals that’s congruent with the overall HCCL mission and the Board of Directors’ vision.

This vibrant group of emerging leaders introduces new leadership to the organization by promoting new ideas, initiatives and engaging opportunities to volunteer, network and learn. Through this platform, HCYP members are given an opportunity to participate and collaborate on issues that impact not only their careers, but the community as a whole.

This year’s committee has been working hard on fulfilling their mission and giving back to the community. In May, the Young Professionals coordinated and launched a food distribution initiative for over 300 families that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many HCYP programs, like this one, are developed in collaboration with regional partners and sponsors who are equally committed to providing resources and opportunities to the Hispanic community in Louisiana.

“This event would not have been possible without the help and support of so many individuals,” says Daniel Toro, Chair of the 2020 HCYP committee. “A big thank you to CRC We Care! We Share! for their generous food donation, The Esplanade, Metairie Bank, OPA Signs & Graphics, Rotary Club of Kenner and all of the volunteers for making this event possible.”

HCYP is already hard at work on identifying new areas of need in the community to increase and expand their impact in the next year. These next-gen workforce leaders are paving the way for a better, brighter future for Hispanic workers and business owners, and they encourage anyone who shares this mission to join wtheir membership.
