Bites for Knights

In the Spring of 2020, the Jefferson Chamber Foundation created a meal donation program to support local essential workers and first responders working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Known as “Bites for Knights,” the program aimed to show appreciation for the community’s knights in shining armor by supplying breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks during shifts.

Bites for Knights donations were collected through the Chamber Foundation and meals and snacks were provided by Jefferson Chamber member restaurants and caterers. Each restaurant handled the delivery of the meals to the assigned hospital or office location.

The Jefferson Chamber Foundation’s Bites for Knights program delivered meals to employees at Acadian Ambulance, the Alario Center, Belle Vie Living Center, Children’s Hospital, Ciolino Drugs, Colonial Oaks Living, East Jefferson General Hospital, InclusivCare, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Ochsner Baptist Administrative Offices, Ochsner Kenner, Ochsner Main Campus, Ochsner West Bank Campus, Tulane Lakeside, Tulane Medical Center and West Jefferson Medical Center.

Restaurants and caterers that participated in Bites for Knights included 12 Seasons Catering, Bobby Hebert’s, Boulevard American Bistro, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Chick-fil-A Gretna, District Donuts Sliders & Brew, Faubourg’s Creole Food, Firehouse Subs, Jason’s Deli, Messina’s Catering, Mirapoix Catering, Olive Branch Café, Panera Bread, Pigeon Catering, Raising Cane’s and Zea Rotisserie & Bar.
