P r otot y p i n g Once the jewelery’s final design is created the most suitable manufacturing process is selected. Laser cutting is one of the most popular rapid prototyping technologies since it imposes no limitation on 2D shapes. For the variated geometry of the different jeweleries the laser cutting seemed to be the best solution.
For the particular laser cutter FabLab has, two types of material could be used. One option was wood plate an the other option was the Plexiglas. The Plexiglas was chosen since this material is available in many colours and a few types of shading. To present the main variants of this material, its different shadings are shown in the following pictures.

The project was made during the internship program at FabLab Budapest. The company is specialized in rapid prototyping therefore I had access to the laser cutting machine.

AGAT A REY AGAT A REY After the product family was created the brand was established in order to unify and join the different products. The name of the brand is an anagram using the letters of the designer’s name. Currently the brand is in the phase of stepping into the market and negotiations have been started with a few designer stores.

Problem Coffee and coffee drinking habits play a big role in a students’ everyday life. They are using the coffee machines at the university but the quality of the coffee is low compared to its price. Another problem is that the cups of the machines are used by other students to make instant coffee in it which is a huge waste day by day. Based on these problems the goal of my project was to make a coffee maker, which is able to brew good quality coffee and store a cup inside but the size cannot be bigger than an ordinary thermos.
Solution
The outcome of the coffe habits research was that the Italian coffee is the best in quality. In Italy the typical coffee maker is the moka. This product is famous all around the world since it is easy to use and the coffee making process takes just a few minutes. Although it makes tasty coffee, the moka has also some problems. The goal of the project was identified: make the classic moka portable.

Process Sketching The redesign process was started with the ideation. Several sketches were made in order to choose the one which best represents the idea behind the product. The style of the original moka is art dĂŠcor but the redesigned shape should be dynamic and modern. After the best sketch was chosen it was improved further. The final design of the shape was shown with a prototype in order to test the ergonomic aspects. After changing a few dimensions, the final 3D model was made. For the prototype the 3D printing technology was used at DTU FabLab. The most important components were printed out and assembled together.

M o ka 3D M o d e l The basis of the final design was the original Italian moka but several improvements were made through the redesign. The overall shape was changed to emphasize its modernity. The upper part was also modified in order to make it able to store a cup. The funcitonal parts were not changed since the aim was to preserve the excellent quality that is the moka’s trademark. The lower part was also modified: an induction plate was implemented into the bottom. The induction plate connects with the heating plate which ends with a standard plug. The model was made by Solid Works and the exploded view shows the different parts of the moka for the better understanding.

app
Inspiration Problem The goal of the project was to design an Application for smartphones which enhances the museum experience for the younger generation. The problems was identified as: young people get bored in museums. They need to be active and always be in contact with new technologies to enjoy being in museums. In Copenhagen there is a group of museums called: Park museums. Their aim is to attract young people by combining six museums. These museums were the main targets with the new App.
Solution Based on the project summary the requirements were defined. The App should be easy and fun to use. It should be an interactive tool between the users and the museum and also increase the number of visitors between the age of 16 and 20 in the Park museums. The final App creates a new link between the museums and the teenagers.

I got involved into this project during my work at FabLab Budapest. Fruccola CafĂŠ Budapest wanted to renew the interior for the carnival season. It was specified that the decoration should be removable. Based on this mobility of the elements the decoration can be removed and reorganized in the next month. It was also important to find a material which does not damage the paint of the wall.
Since the Fruccola famous of its healthy meal and sustainability the decoration was to represent this visually. Another inspiration source was the cafÊ’s logo and its variations used in different contexts.
Having considered the specifications and constraints, an appropriate solution was presented. An alternative silicone based glue was found that was applicable and removable without damaging the walls. This made it possible to change the place of the elements as many times the vompany wishes. The first decoration design was made in February and represented the carnival atmosphere. More than 150 different elements were made and laser cut. The overall shape was a typical carnival mask built up from the laser cut elements.

The project was in a co-operation with Direct Line Inc. The company produces mostly outdoor furniture and fences. The goal of the project was to come up with a new fence design targeting the German and Austrian market. Another requirement was to use the existing manufacturing facilities the company had. My group chose to design a fence for parks. The motivation behind this was the fact that there are lots of parks in Austria and Germany.
After the competitive product analysis was made, it was concluded that most of the fences have a regular and more functional design. Based on this the group decided to apply a really interesting and eye catching design.
As a part of the research a survey was made in the targeted countries and the outcome was used during the ideation process. The final fence design uses stainless steel (grey) and plexi glass (colored) elements. Another important part of the design is the joint which is shown below. The final dimensions can be observed on the illustration at the bottom.

During the Bachelor program at the course: Integrated product design III. The task was to design a faucet. First of all the competitive market analysis was made of the faucet varieties. Secondly a faucet was disassembled completely in order to understand how it works and know more about each part of it. Using the acquired background knowledge the design process was started. During the design process the product was modelled in Solid Works. Technical drawings were made from all of the components individually and also from the whole assembly.
