This was a two part poster project analyzing the range between functionality and experimentation. My subject was the art of making a mixtape. It is a subject near and dear to my heart because of all the mixtapes my friends have created for me throughout the years. In fig.1 I created a simple grid to arrange the elements into a well organized composition. The second poster was an attempt to convey the obsessive compulsiveness that comes when making a mixtape with an intuitive grid. Idee Fixe, a French expression for obsession, became the exaggerated interpretation as a title. I deconstructed those letterforms into basic lines and shapes to mimic the texture and structure of a cassette tape.

1. My goal
for the Thinkspace Gallery redesign was to update the aesthetics, make it easier for users to connect and interact via social media outlets, and decrease the bounce rate by adding artist pages with biographical information and art work to view.
2. My redesign
1.
RETHINKING THINKSPACE GALLERY
for Earthhour was to emphasize Earth Hour’s story and social contributions so users will be compelled to get informed and become active participants. I also redesigned the logo to look more modern and clean. The color of the logo and the background images change as users explore so each page is unique, yet the overall visual experience remains cohesive.
