The Town of DeMotte, which is located in Northern Jasper, was named after Civil War veteran Mark DeMotte, who served as a first lieutenant with the Indiana Light Artillery.

DeMotte Town Council

The DeMotte Town Council meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the DeMotte Town Hall.

Town Council members are President Jeff Cambe, Vice President Alana Bauman, Street Commissioner Dale Eenigenburg, Police Commissioner Mark Boer, and Sewer Commissioner Terry Schultz.

Town Manager is Michael Cain.

The DeMotte Park Board meets the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at DeMotte Town Hall from February to November. Park Board members are President Peggy Michelin, Vice-President Tom Frederich, Secretary Leann Doffin, and member Marie Eenigenburg.

DeMotte Planning Commission

DeMotte Planning Commission meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm in the DeMotte Town

Hall (If Necessary). Members include President Rick Herma, Debbie Thornton, Dale Eenigenburg, Steve Warren, Jeff Cambe, John DeKock, and Julie Davidson.

DeMotte Board of Zoning Appeals

Members include John DeKock, Justin DeKock, Rick Eeningenberg, Rick Herma, and Carolyn Davidson.

The DeMotte Depot Museum

The DeMotte Depot Museum sits in Spencer Park, in DeMotte, IN. It was moved to the park almost 25 years ago. A caboose was added later and both have history on display.

The DeMotte Historical Society opens the museum every Saturday from March through October.
