Success Atlanta Tech Village marks big 2016

Atlanta Tech Village, the co-working and office environment for emerging technology companies and tech startups, is celebrating a successful 2016.

The Village is only as successful as the companies we support and host,” said David Cummings, the founder of The Village. “We are so proud of our Villagers’ accomplishments and really the accomplishments of the Atlanta startup community as a whole in 2016. We fully expect to see this momentum continue in full force in 2017.”

The Buckheadbased hub experienced tremendous growth last year, bringing 2,781 jobs to Atlanta and raising more than $325 million in capital. In addition, a number of companies experienced so much growth and success that they were graduated out of the Village, including growing brands such as IO Education, Terminus and Salesloft.

In 2016, The Village hosted two intern fairs that connected more than 1,238 students with job opportunities at 107 tech companies. The Village also housed more than 430 events and meetups – including 46 Startup Chowdown’s where 12,144 meals were served to entrepreneurs; five hacks including the Braves App Challenge, the Goodie Ideation Hack, the re:imagineATL Hack, BetterCloud’s BetterHack and the BSides Atlanta Hack. At the helm of these events were innovative partners including Microsoft, Honeywell, the Atlanta Braves and CocaCola – all relationships sparked in the past year.

“As the numbers show, 2016 was another year of growth for the Village and our Villagers,” said Cummings. “We look forward to the promise 2017 holds for both our Villagers and the growing startup community in Atlanta. It’s our mission to dream big and foster growth in and outside of our walls.”
