Atlanta Jewish Music Festival returns for ninth year

The 9th annual Atlanta Jewish Music Festival (AJMF9) returns March 8 - 25 with a series of public and private performances at venues across the city.
This year’s lineup includes Marc Cohn, Joshua Radin, Tsvey Brider, Beyond the Pale, Lola Marsh, Yemen Blues, Chana Rothman, Gershone & Flavia, Joe Alterman, Beth Schafer, ATL Collective and many more.
Venues will include City Winery, Aisle 5, Congregation Bet Haverim, Ferst Center for the Arts, The Temple, Icebox, Temple Beth Tikvah, The Breman, Venkman’s, Temple Sinai, Alon’s Dunwoody, Industrious at Ponce City Market, Vista Yoga, Orpheus Brewery, Marcus Jewish Community Center, Music Room, Ahavath Achim Synagogue and Smith’s Olde Bar.
There will also be a number of “private engagements” for students, faculty and families are various locations.
A special podcast series, AJMCast, will showcase AJMF9 artists and their music with in-depth interviews every Wednesday through March 14.

The staff of Springs Publishing, which produces Atlanta INtown, Reporter Newspapers and Atlanta Senior Life, spent the morning of Feb. 1 volunteering at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. After a short orientation, the staff helped sort thousands of pounds of donated food for distribution to needy families and organizations around the city.

Academy Award-winner Jane Fonda celebrated her 80th birthday in Atlanta hosting a party and fundraiser for her nonprofit GCAPP (Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential) at the Whitley Hotel in Buckhead. The event raised $1.3 million and featured musical performances by Carole King and James Taylor. In the photo, Fonda thanks GCAPP Board member Caroline Tucker, Celebration Patron Co-chair, and her husband Jeff Tucker for their longstanding support.
