Real Estate Briefs Parting Shots

The Reynoldstown Civic Improvement League has voted in favor of Fuqua Development’s new mixed-use development, Madison Yards, at 905 Memorial Drive. The 17.5 acre site, the former Legget and Platt warehouse facility, is at the corner of Bill Kennedy Way and adjacent to the Atlanta BeltLine. The plan calls for a grocery store, an eight-screen theater, a fitness center, retail space, office space, restaurants, and 700 apartments and condos. There will be 500 parking spaces tucked behind building facades and on the end of the property facing Interstate 20. Fuqua is also developing the nearby Glenwood Place, another mixed-use community on the BeltLine, anchored by a Kroger supermarket. The Madison Yards project will still have to be approved by NPU-N, the city’s zoning board and city council.

Pollack Shores Real Estate Group’s planned mixed-use development with 325 apartments at the corner of Pharr Road and North Fulton Drive in Buckhead has been shelved, according to a report at Atlanta Business Chronicle.

A mixed-use apartment, hotel and retail high-rise called Ascent Midtown has broken ground on West Peachtree and Spring streets, just south of 18th Street, according to Curbed Atlanta. Designed by R2L:Architects and being built by Greystar, the development is planned to feature 176 hotel rooms and 328 apartments. Ground floor retail space will also be part of the finished project.

Art-based nonprofit Paint Love regularly hosts art classes for the City of Refuge, Atlanta’s largest women and children’s shelter.
