National Parks Lifetime
Senior Pass Rate Hike
At the end of August 2017, the price of the National Parks lifetime Senior Pass increased from $10 to $80. At the same time, a new annual Senior Pass has been made available at $20, which remains valid for one year after the date of purchase.
The America the Beautiful — National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Senior Pass is for U.S. citizens and permanent residents 62 years or older. This is the first price increase since 1994. Previously purchased lifetime Golden Age or Senior Passes will be honored for the lifetime of the pass holder.
Senior Pass holders are given lifetime access to more than 2,000 sites and parks. The fee increase will support critical investments in maintenance projects and national parks and federal recreational lands nationwide.
The Senior Pass can be purchased at:
• Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, 1978 Island Ford Pkwy., Sandy Springs 30350
• Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, 450 Auburn Ave., Atlanta 30312,
• The Army Corps of Engineers, 1138 GA Hwy. Spur 20, Cartersville 30121.
The Senior Pass can be used at sites managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. The pass covers all entrance fees and may provide senior discounts for things such as campsites. It also waives the entrance fee for up to three traveling adult companions at per-person fee locations.
