SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY SOH DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

Dear Graduating Class of 2022,

On behalf of the School of Hospitality (SOH) family, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to each and every one of you!

Every end is a new beginning. You have done exceptionally well in school and I am confident you will continue the good work.

Hospitality is one of the most dynamic sectors in this modern economy, providing not only jobs but also a wide range of opportunities. To equip our graduates with relevant skillsets to thrive in an ever-changing industry, we constantly refresh and add to the resources in our continuing education space. These skills and knowledge are accessible to you, whenever you need it.

Technology has disrupted and changed the nature of work. Job roles are evolving constantly and new skillsets are critical to unlock a world of opportunities. Therefore, it is important for you to embrace learning as part of life, and not just learning for work only.

would also like to take this opportunity to share a quote by Brian Herbert, an American author:

“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.”

When making choices, always ensure that they are aligned and congruent with your goals. In the coming years, I hope you will continue to stay in touch with your RP lecturers. Do keep us updated on your achievements and experiences as you progress in your career as well as personal life.
