01 STATEMENT OF INTENT (LDN) PETAL TABLE IS AN OPEN SOURCE KIT FOR HUB LIKE ENVIRONMENTS. WE WOULD LIKE TO GIFT THIS TABLE AS AN OPEN SOURCE DESIGN TO THE NETWORK. MAKE IT. REMAKE IT. IMPROVE IT. WE INVITE YOU TO SHARE THIS AS PART OF THE HUB JOURNEY. WE’D LOVE TO SEE OTHERS TAKE A LITTLE OWNERSHIP OF THE TABLE BY GIVING THE TABLES AN EDITABLE NAME (”INSERT YOUR HUB NAME HERE”) PETAL TABLES WE ONLY ASK THAT YOU TREAT THE KNOWLEDGE WITH RESPECT AND SHARE YOUR IMPROVEMENTS WITH THE REST OF THE NETWORK.

02 BACKGROUND. WHAT DOES IT DO? IT IS INSPIRED BY THE ORIGINAL PETAL TABLE AT THE HUB ANGEL BY KATY MARKS.
BASICS | 3 leaves of different sizes; can seat 5-7
SOCIABLE CURVES | in the spirit of the
persons for touchdown work; 2 leaves at task height + 1 smaller leaf at bar stool or standing height;
WE HAVE ADDED A FEW THINGS AND HOPE IT SPEAKS TO THE SPIRIT OF THE HUB AND THE HUB MEMBERSHIP – BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER TO MAKE CHANGE IN THE WORLD.
MOBILE | our experience shows us that hub type
original petal table, the (LDN) petal table has evolved the curves on the different leaves to make it possible for a huddled group of 2-3 persons to gather at the end of each leaf; the edges of the table are angled for individuals to sit opposite each other without directly facing each other allowing them to “sit individuall – but together”
spaces need to fulfill many functions in the same space at different times of the day and year. The (LDN) petal table is mobile on wheels making it easy to move. The leaves fold over each other to make it a compact object to move.
POWER | the table is directly powered with plug points located on the underside of the table. This allows the table to be sited relatively freely away from walls making layouts more flexible. The power is supplied to the table from one connection point - in this design, the power is supplied from a hanging power cable with cable runs along the ceiling avoiding trip hazhards on the floor.

TABLE CONFIGURATIONS | the (LDN) petal table can be easily arranged loosely in open plan spaces and we’ve found they work well to create density in space while still having the feel of breathing space. The table can also be used together to form larger table formats for workshops, dinners & meetings. EASY STORAGE | hubs are always busy and throbbing with people and activity leaving little spare room for storage of equipment. The collapsible leaf structure allows a large table to be folded into half its size by one host in 2 easy moves and no need for any tools.
