There is a shift in regional channel dynamics. Global vendors are progressively moving towards in country distributor partnership. The hub and spoke arrangement with a central hub managing multiple country operations is becoming increasingly less reliable. Each country has been recognised to have its own dynamics and its own localised channel partner relationship. With an overall slowdown in corporate IT buying, global vendors are keen to aggressively penetrate and develop country markets previously kept at second run. With such a perspective, in country distributors are better placed to recognise the role played by local channel partners and their requirements. The Handbook of Distributors is an effort by Reseller Middle East to move towards profiling distributors in more detail and in multiple countries. Middle East operations We have recently opened an office based in Dubai to cover the Middle East and North Africa regions for logistics and support to complement our operations in Taipei and to provide a shorter lead time. We have operated in MENA for over 20 years and the company has been established for 30 years. We have seen significant growth over the last five years in MENA despite the unrest in some countries. Market differentiators We manufacture the largest range of POS systems and peripherals in the world. We have one of the lowest field failure rates in the industry of less than two percent over three years. We also offer fan free systems operating at, up to 70 degrees and with up to Intel Core
Channel approach We ensure that the partners we select are focused within the point-of-sale industry and have technicians that can be trained in Taipei to offer excellent service. We only sell to distributors from Taiwan and only appoint one distributor per country in the MENA region. In the last 12 months, we have launched the fastest fan free POS systems and also systems that have a small footprint, both these launches have benefited all our partners. Market trends Within POS the trend is to go for faster processor and we offer up to Intel Core i7 in both fanned and fan free. Fan free is becoming more popular as the total cost of ownership is less and the reliability higher, with fewer moving parts. We are also seeing an increase in mobile POS terminals and at GITEX 2014 we will have the first worldwide launch of our Intel / Windows POS tablet.

Channel approach We provide a complete end-to-end service to our channel, which really differentiates us from other distributors. As an example our departments operate cross functionally, which allows us to put together cross-functional campaigns. We can pool our resources to create end user sales opportunities with selected channel partners into selected vendors or technology spaces. These can be initiated via our marketing campaigns, support the POC or demo, leveraging technical resources from professional services assisting the partner in closing the deal with our experienced sales people. This approach allows us to better support our ‘new to the market’ vendors, such as Infoblox, Gigamon and Skybox which are all part of our Emerging Technologies Department, which has resources, dedicated to sales, technical and marketing, enabling us to better support these types of vendors. Company overview Dell has been operating in the region since its international expansion into Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 1990. It is an exciting time for Dell, and our customers, and our partners in terms of regional outlook and trends. The GCC has been rising up the global ICT rankings and enjoying steady growth for a while now. Similarly, we have been fortunate enough to witness double digit growth as a company. Channel approach Our commitment to the channel remains unchanged and our goal is to keep growing our channel business and continue outpacing the market. At the moment channel represents about one-third of Dell’s global commercial revenue and is an integral part of our core business. This will enable partners to identify and target specific companies with the assurance that Dell will not pro-actively pursue such leads, although end customers still have the choice of buying directly from Dell or through a partner. We are also taking measures to ensure customers have a consistent experience across all sales and marketing touch points whether they buy directly, online or through partners. As a company built on direct relationships, connecting in meaningful ways with the partners and customers we serve is a core foundation of our business, and perhaps the biggest competitive differentiator for us as a company. Channel initiatives We continue to strengthen and expand our commitment to our channel partners in the region and Dell is planning to expand its market reach through partner recruitment and enablement. We put a great deal of focus on partner development for existing partners and by recruiting new partners to cover our growing solutions portfolio. Market trends There is certainly going to be huge changes in technology especially in the way we use it today as compared to what we expect in the coming months. We are already in the process of building our own private cloud for IT security offerings, BYOD offerings and MSSP.

Middle East operations Laserfiche has been operating in the Middle East for seventeen years with its exclusive MENA distributor, BMB. Together with BMB and our local resellers network, we distribute enterprise content management software in the MENA region and provide regional customers with direct support in terms of consultation, implementation and postimplementation support. With the number of Laserfiche users growing each year, the company continues to build the community of support for its customers and resellers. In the past year, we have brought together local resellers and their customers through participation in workshops and trainings. A two-week roadshow was conducted in the cities of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha earlier this year. Another set of trainings will be occurring in Riyadh, Jeddah and Bahrain in November. Thanks to the efforts of BMB and our valueadded resellers, Laserfiche has continued

Vertical focus Laserfiche software is used by organisations across industries to cut costs, increase efficiency and streamline business processes, so we do not limit our focus to particular verticals. However, over the past year, we’ve had great success with government organisations such as Ministry of Labour, commercial organisations such as Emirates National Oil Company and educational institutions such as University of Ha’il. Channel approach Our value-added reseller (VAR) programme provides the tools channel partners need to enhance relationships with existing clients and to attract new ones. Channel partners have access to exceptional support and service at each stage of the sales and installation process. We have a comprehensive VAR training programme, where partners receive in-depth product
and pricing information, learn proven marketing and sales techniques and discover best practices regarding the installation and maintenance of Laserfiche software at client sites. We extend partners’ learning opportunities with online training courses through the Laserfiche Certified Professional Programme. We also have preand post-sales technical services through which partners can avail opportunities such as closing deals with customised product demonstrations and RFI and RFP assistance. We also have marketing services to help partners gain a better understanding of each industry’s business processes and ECM needs with dedicated industry experts assigned to targeted vertical markets. These services also help to generate leads with direct mail and targeted advertising campaigns among other advantages. Through Laserfiche Empower Conference, partners can network with our staff, users and other resellers and attend educational sessions and learn about the latest enhancements to the company’s products and services. Market trends Over the next two to three years, organisations in highly regulated industries will become more comfortable with cloud technology. We will start to see full-fledged ECM cloud solutions, rather than just the current file sync and share offerings. Laserfiche is well-positioned to leverage these trends. Another trend that is impacting the technology landscape is the desire to capture the institutional knowledge of an organisation, especially in the high-tech world where things change so rapidly. There has been a consolidation in the components market as far as distributors and suppliers are concerned, which will give us the space to make reasonable margins. We have also noticed that the tablets and smartphones sales have grown even more in this year, and we aim to further capitalise on this. There has been an increased focus on smart health and smart learning technology solutions within the industry. Therefore, we can summarise that 2014 is the beginning of growth from new smart technologies in the IT regional distribution space. Plans ahead We will enable our partners to identify the areas in which they can grow and set them with a plan for long-term business. To put it simply we are best known for managing printing needs. But, printed information is now only part of the wider unstructured information challenge. While printing to paper may be on the decline, the amount of information and content that’s being generated just continues to grow from every source, like email, fax, scan and online. The acquired companies allow Lexmark to tap into the elements of the capture, process, content management, and search across various vertical industries in document management. Typically, the intelligent capture solutions can eliminate 85-95 percent or more of the manual data entry that is otherwise required to key information into backend systems. Fewer keystrokes translate directly into reduced cost of data entry, fewer errors, and faster input cycle times. Lexmark is strong across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, education, government, services and utilities. Channel initiatives Lexmark has introduced the Business Solution Dealer programme which is geared specifically towards those partners that want to engage with their end customers and allows them to make sure
We have also introduced Lexmark Print Management (LPM) which delivers a new level of flexibility, enabling businesses to create a secure, shared printing and imaging environment with enduring benefits. Through LPM, not only can partners offer their business customers the ability to reduce printing costs and shrink carbon footprint, but also introduce new functionality in a timely, costeffective manner. For instance, through LPM, partners can help their customers strengthen access controls, security and compliance, enable printing from mobile devices, track activity and increase user accountability and add redundancy, ensuring printer availability. As part of LPM, Print Release lets users send print jobs from anywhere, for example, from their desktop, tablet or smartphone. All documents are held in the print queue until their owners release them. This means confidential information stays protected and print jobs don’t pile up endlessly on office printers. The queue can be hosted on-premises or in the cloud for additional features and benefits. Research shows that organisations spend anywhere from one to six percent of their annual revenues on office copying and printing. It’s clear that offices still tend to print a lot of pages unnecessarily. It’s time for businesses to rethink the way they deal with paper.
