THIS IS THE ONLY SOLUTION Re:solution is a new online magazine founded by a collective of seven upcoming photographers based in Stockholm. The idea of Re:solution magazine is to create a new independent playroom for photography and arts, where our keywords are variety and diversity rather than a certain style or point of view. Our goal is to release a themed issue every second or third month wherein we will invite other photographers, illustrators, writers and designers to collaborate in making this an as exciting medium as possible.

ISSUE #4: TIME TRAVEL

When google-ing time travel you find out that Time Travel is a swedish traveling agency for golf travels. We’re not sure how that works but we know that if we physically could travel in time we probably wouldn’t be playing golf. While time travelling through our minds we’re almost certainly not playing golf either. Since we were young most of us have been dreaming about building a time machine. Or rather, someone building it for us. And for this issue of Re:solution Magazine it would had been convenient for us if it had been built by now. We can, by lying only a little, say that we gave it a half hearted attempt, but got nowhere. Where we did get seems to be further into our consciences and memories. Many of us have been travelling backwards in time and mind, rediscovering old memories and maybe dusting them off and polishing them up a bit, while some have been thinking about the future. Now we hope you’ll enjoy this time travel issue, despite the lack of golf...

EDITORIAL STAFF// T I M E T R AV E L L E R S

BEATA HOLMGREN

beata@resolutionmagazine.com Says she would like to “travel back to the future” if she could travel through time.

CHRISTOPHER HARNESK-NILSSON

christopher@resolutionmagazine.com Wants to go visit himself in the future.

KATARINA HAMMARLUND

katarina@resolutionmagazine.com

Would visit herself as a kid if she could travel through time. She would then tell herself that everything will be alright.

SAGA

saga@resolutionmagazine.com Wants to travel to the future, she knows what happened yesterday and feels no urge for dwelling in the past.

JIMMY ERIKSSON

jimmy@resolutionmagazine.com Would go back and see the dinosaurs if he had a time machine. “And on my way home I would stop by a Bob Marley concert. I think that would be nice“, he says.

EVELINE JOHNSSON

eveline@resolutionmagazine.com Would set her time machine on May 12th, year 1924, if she had one.

HANNA RICHTER

hanna@resolutionmagazine.com Would travel to a time where time itself has no greater role. Or maybe Paris in the 60’s.

ANNA SUNDSTRÖM Would travel back in time to when her horse was still alive and have one last ride by the sea, if she could. “Alternatively I would go back to meet Frida Kahlo. I can’t make up my mind”, she says. She gets inspiration from things that have happened in her own life. Childhood, becoming an adult, relationships and all the feelings and thoughts concerning this. “Photography and I are having a kind of love affair, sometimes we hate each other, sometimes our love is so strong that nothing else matters.“ It’s a love she can’t live without, and it’s what motivates her.

ANDREW PEARCE Wants to travel to the last hour of Earth, and get a feel for the atmosphere. He is inspired by the rural country which often goes unseen. He says what motivates him is coming across interesting locations and strange weather occurences. Those kinds of things seem to get him motivated for photo shoots, but sharing his art with the world is what keeps him going.

SAGA SIG Would use a time machine to travel back to her childhood and experience more adventures with her sister. Saga’s inspiration comes from almost everything around her; people, music, art, books, fashion, love, nature... Her motivation is the excitement of going into the dark room and getting her film processed, but also the disappointment of not getting the perfect frame. She’s constantly feeling like she needs to do more and to do better. “There is this need in me that is very hard to fulfill and I doubt I never will fulfill. I am never 100% satisfied, I guess this is what keeps me going.”

MARTIM GUERRA SILVA & JENNY SANDBERG Thinks travelling in time is irrelevant. They believe that in every single moment, all time is present. The unexpected is what inspires them, and the future is their motivation.
