Project Execution Period Feb 2014 to March 2016 Contract Type Re-measurable BOQ/Unit Rate Contract Value $680 million Estimated Project Man Hours 2.7 million Project Description The Ichthys LNG Project, one of the world’s largest LNG developments, involves gas from the Ichthys Field in the Browse Basin off north-west Australia being exported to the onshore processing facilities in Darwin via a 889km pipeline.

Terms of Use

JKC Australia LNG Pty Ltd (JKC), is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities, including the gas processing plant at Bladin Point. The MEC-2 package was awarded by JKC, a joint venture between JGC Corporation, Kellogg Brown & Root Pty Ltd and Chiyoda Corporation. Scope of Work The contract will be completed by the Engineering Construction Energy Oil and Gas (EC EOG) team and includes the erection of piping, mechanical and structural steel for the Utility and Offsite Area of the project. This mechanical package is valued at $680 million and this development will be the largest ever construction project in the Northern Territory.

The MEC-2 package includes work such as: unloading module support at the Project’s Module Offloading Facility, module setting and hook-up of the jetty, connection and hook-up of the storage tanks and installation of the plants utility systems.
