EXPERIENCE ASHEVILLE
Insider’s Itinerary
One of the best parts of exploring a new city is finding the hidden spots that only the locals know about. Whether this is your first time in Asheville, or you’re a regular visitor, let The Restoration be your guide to an authentic insider experience. Pick and choose stops from our Insider’s Itinerary or follow it from start to finish.
8AM | COFFEE AND PASTRIES AT THE RISE
Head downstairs to our European sip-and-stroll coffee shop to get your caffeine fix for the day. Using beans from local roasters, High Noon, our baristas can whip up your favorite beverage in no time.
9AM | TOUR THE BILTMORE ESTATE
This must-see Asheville destination is America’s largest privately owned home. View the Vanderbilt’s breathtaking collection of art and furniture on 8,000 acres of Blue Ridge Mountain property. The Estate is the backbone of many other adventures, so you can get creative by exploring the gardens, outdoor activities, local cuisine, and even a Land Rover tour for an unforgettable off-road experience.
12PM | LUNCH AT BABY BULL
Baby Bull, located in the River Arts District, is a classic and casual burger shop curated by another local favorite restaurant, The Bull and Beggar. The counter-service joint serves immaculate sandwiches, creamy milkshakes, and a crushable beverages menu. Our favorite combination is a double cheeseburger, crispy fries, and a sparkling Lambrusco.
1PM | EXPLORE RIVER ARTS DISTRICT
Explore over 280 artist’s studios located right along the French Broad River. RAD, which was once warehouses and mills, is home to many colorful murals, glassblowing, and pottery in addition to artist studios and galleries. Visit The North Carolina Glass Center for a free glass blowing demonstration or walk to The Wedge Studios featuring 30 professional artists, a restaurant, wine bar, and brewery.
4PM | THE ASHEVILLE ART MUSEUM
This small but mighty art museum is packed with 20th and 21st century American Art from western North Carolina and Southern Appalachian artists. Don’t miss the breathtaking two-ton glass orb that marks the entrance. And if you work up a sweet tooth, head on over to French Broad Chocolate Lounge right next door for a bonbon, homemade ice cream, or an entire menu of drinking chocolates.
6PM | THE OBSERVATORY ROOFTOP SUNSET & DRINKS
Head on back to your home base at The Restoration to take in a spectacular sunset and to sip on spritz at The Observatory Rooftop bar. Boasting spectacular views of downtown Asheville and The Blue Ridge Mountains, The Observatory is a perfect way to end your day in a garden rooftop bar featuring botanical cocktails and small bites.
7PM | DINNER AT THE EXCHANGE
For a mountain-to-table restaurant experience, come back to earth on the ground level of our hotel for dinner and drinks at The Exchange. Chef Cremer’s take on American Brasserie with Appalachian Influences will be the seasonally inspired Asheville meal you’ve been craving for.
9PM | NIGHTCAP AT THE DRAFTSMAN
There’s no better way to end your day then to roll down to our basement bar and lounge. The Draftsman is packed with entertainment including two vintage bowling lanes, skee-ball, and an amazing lineup of arcade games. Depending on the day of the week, you may be able to catch some live music within the lounge, too.
