MORAH'S CORNER

editor's note
“But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me”. Psalm 13:5-6 I’m realizing more and more than my song is my prayer. Sometimes I feel led to sing and I hesitate, and in some ways, I quench the spirit. According to the Sing Up Foundation, “Singing lowers cortisol and relieves stress and tension. Studies have shown that when people sing, endorphins and oxytocin are released by the brain which in turn lowers stress and anxiety levels. Oxytocin (a natural hormone produced in the hypothalamus) also enhances feelings of trust and bonding which also explains the reports that singing also improves depression and feelings of loneliness”. According to Rabbi Sacks, “Song is central to the Judaic experience. We do not pray; we daven, meaning we sing the words we direct toward Heaven”. As it relates to Torah, Rabbi Sacks goes on to say, “Music speaks to something deeper than the mind. If we are to make Torah new in every generation, we have to find ways of singing its song a new way”. This way of life is the “song we teach our children that convey our love of God” (Sacks, Covenant & Conversations: Torah as Song). Moving forward, I pray we are intentional in not suppressing the music in our hearts. Rejoice in His salvation, and sing to the Lord a new song. Sing because He has triumphed gloriously; sing praise to the Lord God of Israel, and sing praise to the LORD most high. Sing praises to our King. Sing because He is our defense; sing to honor Him. Sing for joy; let our souls sing and our lips rejoice for we have been redeemed. Remember that music is the language of the soul, and let us fix our hearts to sing and praise His Name. To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever (Psalm 30:12). Exodus 15:1, Judges 5:3, Psalm 7: 17, Psalm 47:6, Psalm 57:7, Psalm 59:17, Psalm 66:2, Psalm 67:4, Psalm 71:23

Increase Our Faith written by Dr. Shirley Moore
We who believe wholeheartedly place our trust in the Father regardless of what we see, feel, or hear. Each appointed time is celebrated and acknowledged to awaken us to the reality of the pending time of reckoning and the benefits of setting our hope continuously in Abba Yah. This should remind us of the many times since this time last year that our Father took the little we had and increased it to make it more than enough for us to be alive today. It also says that if He is for us, He is more than the world against us. Isaiah 60:1-5 “Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the esteem of יהוהhas risen upon you.For look, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness the peoples. But יהוהarises over you, and His esteem is seen upon you. And the gentiles shall come to your light, and sovereigns to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes all around and see: all of them have gathered, they have come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are supported on the side. Then you shall see and be bright, and your heart shall throb and swell, for the wealth of the sea is turned to you, the riches of the gentiles”.
We are also reminded of Elijah telling the widow to borrow jars from one jug and fill the widow's jars of oil with one jar. We will be lighting more candles than usual this month, expelling the darkness of hopelessness and doubt. Let's also remember when the Messiah turned the water into wine. He fed the multitude with five loaves of bread and two fish. Faith is needed most when gross darkness comes upon the earth. This month may be the darkest. However, the darkness will never overcome the Light of salvation. Even the darkness will also work for our good. This is also said to be a time for dreaming and acquiring interpretations of dreams, giving visions of hope and assurance of a good and expected end. We may not understand the process of the dream but we can hold on with the expectation of the manifestation of the projected end being in our favor. Our Father gives us the night to sleep. Let's not fret over the darkness represented as trouble, wars, and challenges. Our hope is in our Father and we walk by faith as He lights up our lives. Psalms 127:1-2 If יהוהdoes not build the house, Its builders have laboured in vain. If יהוהdoes not guard the city, The watchman has stayed awake in vain. In vain do you rise up early, To sit up late, to eat the bread of toil; So He gives His beloved sleep. Everything that our Father does, has done and sets in motion is for the good of His children. The Scripture says, "My people perish for the lack of knowledge”. For as much as we know to acknowledge our Father in all of our ways, we do well. Let this be the month that we come full circle in our commitment to be hearers and doers of His Word in Spirit and Truth. Consider the end of the matters recorded in this month for our ancestors and lay claim on them for ourselves. Truly what He has done for others, He will do for us. It is written of them for our hope. Psalms 18:19-26 And He brought me out into a large place; He delivered me for He delighted in me. He rewarded me according to the righteousness; according the cleanness of my hand he repaid me. For I have guarded the ways of יהוה, And have not acted wrongly against my Elohim. For all His right-rulings are before me, And I did not turn from His laws. And I am perfect before Him, And I guard myself from my crookedness. And יהוה repays me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands before His eyes. With the kind You show Yourself kind; With the perfect one You show Yourself perfect; With the clean You show Yourself clean; And with the crooked You show Yourself twisted.
Psalms 23:1-6 יהוהis my shepherd; I do not lack. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He turns back my being; He leads me in paths of righteousness For His Name’s sake. When I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You spread before me a table in the face of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup runs over. Only goodness and kindness follow me All the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the House of יהוה, To the length of days! Be assured that all things work together for the good of those who love Him. He will work in our favor against the enemies of our souls. As we enter into the month of Kislev, know that we will have enough oil to last until the day is done. Let's use this time to rededicate our bodies as the temples of our Father. The appointed times of remembrance and celebration are our heritage if we persevere. On the eighth day of Chanukah, the light is burning brighter than ever enabling us to experience the victory in our Father again and again. We will complete one cycle and start afresh to do greater work than ever before. May our experiences increase our faith. This is a time to be reassured and encouraged. What our Father has done for others, He has also set Himself to do for us. Trust Him unto obedience. Remember He does not forsake His own. He will supply the oil to light up our lives forever. Isaiah 60:1-5 “Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the esteem of יהוהhas risen upon you. For look, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness the peoples. But יהוהarises over you, and His esteem is seen upon you. And the gentiles shall come to your light, and sovereigns to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes all around and see: all of them have gathered, they have come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are supported on the side. Then you shall see and be bright, and your heart shall throb and swell, for the wealth of the sea is turned to you, the riches of the gentiles come to you”. ABOUT DR. Yah's Healing to the Nations
Change Me
written by Prophetess Beverly Holiday
In the words of the popular song “Change Me Oh God” by Tamela Mann she sings “The Word” throughout the stanzas pleading for The Most High to change her. She first asks to wash her through and through. This is what The Word does for us as stated in Ephesians 5:25-27, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish”. She then goes on to ask for a clean heart that she may worship Our Master. King David cried out, it seems for the same touch in Psalms 51:10-15 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
As she continues crying out, she asks to be cleaned from the inside out. In Matthew it speaks of cleaning the outside of the cup. Yahshua made it very clear it was much more important to wash the inside, as only His blood can do through our repentance and His salvation for our souls. Then, our outsides become clean as well. He goes on to scold the Scribe and Pharisees again, speaking of white washed tombs. Yahshua lists a few fleshly attitudes that must be removed for us to be “clean” extortion, self-indulgence, unrighteousness, hypocrisy and lawlessness. Matthew 23:25-28 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and selfindulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.” “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. Walking contrary to the Torah(lawlessness) causes us to be unclean and cripples our walk. There is a future changing as Paul speaks of in I Corinthians 15:50-54. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So, when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” If we want to be a part of this glorious eternal change, we must be willing to allow The Master to lovingly wash, cleanse, correct, guide, and transform us. The broken receptacles of sin and transgression, we are today, must become vessels of noble use to carry His Word, His image and His praise upon our lips. As the song echoes the cry for change, we must also cry out for change and renewal within ourselves now, while it is yet still day.
