Like Cheryl Luckett’s Southern roots, her love for design runs deep. Since 2012, Dwell by Cheryl has been transforming homes into classic, colorful, cultured and cozy spaces. Though Cheryl began her professional journey working for a Fortune 500 company as a registered dietitian and human resources professional, her creative calling drew her to pursue a degree and career in interior design. Cheryl has collaborated with major brands on everything from lighting to textiles, and her work has been featured in national publications such as Southern Home, Traditional Home, HGTV Magazine, AD, Forbes, The Washington Post, and Southern Living
Visions of a sophisticated space for leisure and self-care were the spark that ignited Cheryl’s imagination when creating her My Rowe Design. Several years back, the designer created “a stylish, masculine closet and dressing room with classic details and tons of texture” for her first showhouse project. Inspired by this previous work, Cheryl crafted a feminine counterpoint to that design, brought to life with a wide range of her favorite Rowe upholstered and occasional pieces. When imagining how her My Rowe Design might translate to the real world, she pictured the space as “the ultimate closet or dressing room for the lady of the house.” With a stylish Dune Desk vanity and an enviable closet, this room exudes the relaxed glamour and charm of a fashion-loving occupant.
“I love the Leander Swivel Chairs — they are large and comfy, and seem to almost beckon you to come sit and stay a while.
Comfort is essential in a room designed for lounging, so a luxurious seating area was a must-have for this space. A pair of Leander Swivel Chairs sits cozily across from a velvet Madeline Short Sofa with a taupe leather tufted ottoman connecting them — the perfect spot to unwind and socialize. “I imagine it to be a space where [the lady of the house] and her daughters or gal pals can hang out, dish on the latest gossip and relax,” says Cheryl, “and where she starts and ends her glamorous days.”

New Design Trend
Color plays such a major role in my designs. I’m very much looking forward to checking out the color trends at this fall market.

Sources of Inspiration
I find inspiration in textiles; they add so much color, texture and pattern to a home. I often begin an entire design with the textiles I intend to use in the space and then zoom out from there.
Music to Fuel Creativity
I love a favorite album playing in the background when I’m deep in my design zone. A few that come to mind are Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter, Lauryn Hill’s Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Adele’s 30 and Taylor Swift’s Evermore
Always make it personal
If the neighbors have it, we don’t want it
There will be patterns

My Rowe Design by Far Studio
The hustle and bustle of High Point Market itself was the inspiration for Brittany’s
My Rowe Design, which she envisioned as a calm and restful haven in the midst of all the excitement. “I chose neutral colors that are a signature of my aesthetic,” says the designer, “and layered multiple textures with subtle patterns and one-of-a-kind objects and artwork.” Textures abound in this earthy modern space, from woven textiles to the plush luxury of the Rocco Ottomans’ natural sheepskin wool. Distinctive accessories like sculptural lighting and rustic vessels offer an eclectic, collected aesthetic that reinforces the idea of an oasis — a place for serenity and precious things.
“The
inspiration for My Rowe Design
Space was a warm,
layered and
textural vibe that would feel like a bit of an oasis within the chaos of market.
The real heart of this space — as it is with most well-loved living rooms — is the appealingly oversized sofa. “My favorite piece is the Moreau Sofa in a beautiful umber velvet,” says Brittany, “it really anchors the space.” Generously sized at 110” and sporting the plush comfort of velvet, the Moreau is the perfect centerpiece for this warm and inviting social space. “[This look] could be for a house in the Hamptons,” says Brittany, imagining how her My Rowe Design might come to life in the real world, “where late nights are spent by the fire with friends enjoying wine and the beautiful surroundings.”

New Design Trend
I am excited to explore patterns in a sophisticated way. Thinking [of using] subtle or tonal stripes and plaids to play with some of my more neutral, moody interiors.
Things About Fall
I love the crisp weather and the beautiful leaves; it just always feels like such an exciting and special time. Everyone is back from summer travels, kids are in school… and of course, High Point Market!

Travel is the best source of inspiration for me. [On trips] I am always taking pictures of unique design details, colors and materials — so important to always be looking at new things!
Music to Fuel Creativity
Interestingly enough, when I work I prefer silence…but I do love putting together playlists for workouts, and those are always changing.
TOP FIVE
No accent walls! When I use a color, it typically goes on the walls, ceiling and trim
A home needs to have at least one moody, dark room
Scale is so important, and can really take an interior from feeling basic to designed
No more than two metal finishes with a space
Natural materials will always win!

@vivirdesign
Vivir Design is a Tucson, Arizona-based studio that focuses on doing more than simply designing a space — they craft an entire experience. Vivir brings together a collective of creatives with a shared history in the music scene, channeling their collaborative spirit into innovative interiors. Their journey, rooted in artistic synergy, has evolved into a vibrant community of designers sharing a passion for creating spaces that tell a story.
The inspiration for the Vivir Design collective’s My Rowe Design space stemmed from their deep love of historic buildings.
“Every space has a story to tell,” the Vivir designers explain, “and part of that story is written by the memories that are made in it.”
Their My Rowe Design explores a pastiche of styles from days gone by, skillfully blending them into a curated space that suits the modern aesthetic. The graceful curves and antique appeal of a velvet Brooke Chaise stand in vibrant contrast to the modern industrial side table that accompanies it. Likewise, the clean lines of our Indira Cocktail Table and Capri End Table add a contemporary note that feels refreshing against the backdrop of an oversized, classical art-themed wall mural. The overall theme? Maximalism, but make it modern.
“We
are always moved by the character of historic spaces, so the inspiration for our My Rowe Design space was a ‘new space, with an old soul.’
Along with cozy textiles, an extra-large sofa makes comfort a priority in this sitting area.
“Our favorite piece is definitely the beautiful Madeline Sofa,” say the Vivir designers.
Rich cocoa velvet accentuates the sleek lines of this transitional piece, a soft yet sophisticated choice for this elegant space. With an eye towards timeless style, the Vivir Design team has created a place that evokes memories of the past as well as future possibilities.

New Design Trend
We are very much loving color, as well as beautiful mid tone and dark wood tones lately. We look forward to integrating even more of these elements this season — and the next, and probably the next after that!
Things About Fall
I love the colors of autumn; nature provides the ultimate color palette in general.

After having been in the music industry for more than twenty years, I draw a lot of parallels between writing a song and designing a space. Both need to be more than beautiful, they need to be memorable — something that can be enjoyed over and over again.
Music to Fuel Creativity
I’m inspired by a lot of music, but if I had to choose one song that will always stir up feelings, it would be “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds.
Don’t be afraid to mix metals
Don’t fear a little bit of maximalism
Include vintage pieces and heirlooms
There really are no rules — break them all if it feels right! TOP FIVE
Make sure there is a memorable visual “hook” in your space
