Camper Together Store Display Design by Kengo Kuma in Italy The famous architect KENGO KUMA of Japan had made a beautiful display design for Camper Store in Italy. His designs are inspiration for anyone in this field. The beautifully carved designs and color psychology are the main weapons of Kengo Kuma.
For this Together Store, the Kengo Kuma covered all the walls with ply boards which are connected to each other in a very systematic and basic way which adds beauty to the display. The series of ply boards are simply attached with 32X32 cms wooden board. The plywood also elegantly hides the lighting system which is the most beautiful feature of the display.
Keeping in mind the maximum simplicity, the boards are attached to each other with the standard size of shoes. Due to the vertical position of boards, the design seems three-dimensional when looked from different angle which is the feature of this design.
A limited palette of materials comprises raw plywood boards for the walls, and acidified limestone for the flooring. The only additional furniture within the shop is three carefully positioned seating pods that provide a comfortable place for customers to try on shoes. Throughout the scheme a duality is established between the apparently simple decor and construction methods, and the more sophisticated and complex detailing and execution.
The choice of materials was limited to just two: the plywood boards on the walls and natural stone for the floor. In spite of this, the raw finish of the boards and the varying surfaces of the acid-treated limestone slabs on the floor fill the space with rich textures and tones. This duality which coexists between what is simple and basic at first sight and then complex and sophisticated when you take a closer look, is what fascinates us most about Camper’s attitude towards design.
