TEAM SPACE + WORKSTATION

Every employee has a way that they like to work and what that looks like shifts depending on the type of work they need to accomplish. A successful workplace will have a variety of working zones and could include lounge, individual, group, quiet, noisy, open, enclosed, etc. Employees will want to be in the office if there is an area that they like to work, especially if it's as good as or better than the one they have at home.

This semester was a historic adaptive reuse of the Monroe Abbey, formerly known as First Baptist Church. The project is a response to proposal from the Children’s Museum of Phoenix who were looking for a firm that could redesign their secondary location at the Abbey. This project was designed by a team of three, including myself. Our goals were to preserve the history of the building while also providing a fun, learning-focused space for the Children’s Museum. The building has a unique opportunity in the former auditorium since a fire consumed the roof.
