In fact, opt for LED Lighting and it is highly likely that you will never have to change a bulb again. Whatever your preference, the dimmable nature of HiB’s LED Lighting Range together with a choice of Chrome or White finishes and either Cool White or Warm White Illumination makes for a variety of lighting that is suitable for every room in the home.

Key to a Fire Rated light fitting is a material that expands when heated above a certain temperature which results in any surrounding gaps being blocked and the fire being contained. HiB’s Fire Rated LED Showerlights are proven to offer 90 minutes of fire-rated time and are IP65 / Zone 1 approved, which makes them ideal for bathroom applications. They are dimmable and with a lifetime of around 50,000 hours are up to 80% more energy efficient than their halogen equivalents.

Unlike halogen or compact fluorescent fittings, LEDs are eco-friendly and, of course, give significant cost savings - whilst a 50w GU10 halogen fitting would cost an average of £10.00 a year, it’s LED equivalent would cost just £0.90.

All installations must comply to guidelines which are based on a zonal concept. The colour coded diagram below illustrates this concept and must be followed to ensure the safe installation of bathroom lighting. These regulations apply to domestic installations only. 60cm

Zone 1 refers to the area above the bath or shower up to a height of 2.25 metres and requires a minimum rating of IP44 or higher and if the fitting is 240v a 30ma RCD must be used to protect the circuit.

Zone 2 covers an area 0.6 metres wide immediately next to, and all round zone 1. Wash basins should also be treated as zone 2. The minimum rating here is IPX4.

Outside Zone has no special requirements, unless water jets are likely to be used for cleaning purposes.

+ Installations must be made in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations and relevant building regulations + HiB recommends that all electrical bathroom products should only be fitted by a suitably qualified, Part P registered electrician This bathroom light is rated IP65 which means:

Protection against water jets. Water projected by a nozzle from any direction under stated conditions shall have no harmful effect.

Protection against conditions on ship decks (deck equipment). Water from heavy seas shall not enter the enclosures under prescribed conditions.

Protection against immersion in water. It shall not be possible for water to enter the enclosure under stated conditions of pressure and time.

Protection against indefinite immersion in water under specified pressure. It shall not be possible for water to enter the enclosure.

1. HiB recommends all mirror products are cleaned using a suitable soft cloth and water. 2. Do not use any abrasive cleaners on any HiB products. 3. Exceeding the maximum wattage shown, when replacing a bulb, could result in product damage.
