The Government has forecast that there will be another 1 million school places required by 2020. Many of these will be created by expansion and many schools will convert to Academy and Free school status. Sixty five are converting every month on average. Each has the responsibility to manage finances, procure goods and services, comply with legal and HR requirements and maintain their assets, facilities, buildings and grounds. Companies who wish to supply to this growth market must establish themselves early and will be the ones who will reap the benefits as the numbers grow. It was the worst of schools…it was the best of schools, New College is a school transformed. Gone is the negative image of poor results, poor behaviour, disgruntled and dysfunctional staff. This was – without doubt a struggling school and, at one point, one of the worst to be found in England. This has been replaced with commendable reports from OFSTED and a worthy place in the top 10% of schools for continuous improvement nationwide. We interview the Head, Jane Brown, on how it was achieved. Exam stress support, the Association of Reflexologists have put together a number of basic tips that may support exam stress management.
