To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Jessica Hayes. I have a very positive attitude, and I am devoted to what I am assigned to do. I love being busy and working. I love teamwork and helping others. Working with others is great, but I can also work independently. I love being in groups because you get to know people, and it helps with communication. I am very friendly and kind to all. Being creative is very important to me because I can express myself. I also love taking pictures of everything. Photography helps me to express my creativity, and express emotions through other people, animals, and nature.
After I get out of high school, I would love to get into a four year college. When I am in college I would love to work at Disneyland as a photographer. It would be an honor to work there. I know that I would gain a lot of valuable experience from that type of job. It would be amazing to take pictures of people, seeing their smiling faces, especially if it’s their first time in the park.
I have great qualifications for working at Disneyland: I know how to use a camera, because I was in yearbook. I’m also great at communicating with people, and I’m great with children.
It would be a wonderful opportunity to be able to work at the Disneyland Resort. I’ve been going to Disneyland since I was two years-old. I love the history of the park, and it inspires me to pursue my dreams. I hope you consider me for the job
Sincerely, Jessica H. Jessica H.

Essays I joined yearbook, because I wanted to be exposed to new experiences, like working with a dedicated team. I wanted to see how the classroom operated, too. Most importantly I wanted to learn how to use a camera. Over this year of being on the yearbook staff, I have learned how to work with other people, improve my communication skills, use computer software, and how to use a camera. Seeing everyone working their hardest to make this the best yearbook possible, was amazing. To see the actual dedication of my peers inspired me to work even harder. The skills I have learned in this class will definitely help me in the future. I could use my photographic skills to hopefully work one day at Disneyland. This year I feel as if I helped everyone. By this I mean, when someone couldn’t go to take pictures, I would go out and take those pictures. To add to that, I would give my honest opinion on someone’s idea or expand on it. While being on the 2017 yearbook staff, I was faced with several challenges. One thing I did have a problem with was people who did not carry their weight, as in they didn’t do their work so others had to do their assignments for them. From those situations I learned that I should always carry my weight and just do it and finish whatever I’m working on. The way to fix this problem would be to hope everyone doesn’t procrastinate, and we all just get that assignment done. At the beginning of the year going into Yearbook for the first time I was very excited, but also nervous. The main goal of mine was to learn how to use a camera; I definitely learned how to use one. With me learning how to use the camera, I also learned how to use various softwares. Overall, this year on the 2016-2017 Odyssey Yearbook was the best experience ever. I’m super excited to be returning next year!
Beyond That Line
Beyond That Line, picture is one of my favorite I have taken. From afar it has the similarities of a painting. The picture can express emotion; like how relaxing it is. I love the depth, because instead of the hills/ mountains being out of focus the trees closer to the camera are. The hills/mountains are the whole focus of the picture. This was to show that even though school is stressful, you can relax by looking just beyond to school’s structure.
Game Day, is the title of this wonderful picture. It was captured right before the game. Number twenty-three is very focused, he has his eye on the football. I love how this picture has the depth in the background, it’s not to blurry, but it’s enough for you to just focus on the main player.
5/11 5/11, is a picture of two football players at the biggest game of the year (Smudge Pot). The game is between rival schools Redlands East Valley, and Redlands High School. The image shows that even in the most competitive game ever, you can show great sportsmanship.
Clips of the year
I love this picture because, I love taking portraits. These two girls look super happy. In portraits, it’s easier to show emotion, as shown in this picture.
This picture was put on one of our academic pages. I was trying different angles, and this one was perfect! The depth and concentration on this student's face was perfect timing. This student really just takes all of the attention as it’s all focused on him. I really love how this picture came out.
More Clips of The Year! Baseball Copy At Redlands East Valley, it’s three strikes and you're out. Our 2017 Redlands East Valley baseball teams consisted of 20 Varsity players, 19 Junior Varsity players, and 15 Freshman players. This session was a grand slam, with our players. We ask one of the many team members what they thought about playing this season, they said “I love the energy of each game.” -Cody Johnson (catcher, Varsity). Our REV baseball was spectacular this year!
This was for copywriting this year. It was for baseball, now with baseball or any other sport, I had to get a quote and ask that person how their season went. I love writing this because, it got me connected more with what was going on in baseball.
This page is all about our school’s baseball team. The main pictures are the ones I had taken for the page.I loved being able to stand really close to the baseball field, and get creative with the angles that I was photographing. I was inspired to make the red in uniformes really stand out. The reason I chose to do so was, It shows our wildcat spirit, how we are proud of our school.
