Manuel Knight
Manuel Knight Sinkfield’s CEO Manuel Knight grew up in Perry Homes, one of the ghettos in Atlanta, Georgia, where life was hard and a constant struggle. A turning point was when Manuel one day came home and found his mother crying on the steps because she could not afford to buy Christmas presents for her children. “I made a promise to myself not letting the ghetto get the best of me. Years later I joined the U.S. Army and eventually found myself in operation Desert Storm in Iraq. An extremely hostile environment that showed me the true meaning of teamwork and effective leadership.” Today, Manuel Knight is a trained psychologist and one of Europe’s most sought after speakers in the field of performance and motivation. He conducts seminars in Europe and in the U.S. about the challenges of creating top performing teams, effective leaders and innovative/flexible/effective organisations that deliver top results. With a strong presence, deep knowledge and an engaging sense of humor, Manuel conducts his seminars in English, Swedish or German.
“Top performance is about understanding the interaction between the structure and the culture; the interaction between the “what” and the “how” within an organisation. Most people have the potential to be top performers. The trick is to unlock that potential”. Being heavily engaged in community improvement, Manuel has started a number of social projects that focus on creating a better world for our children. He started the “adopt a school” project, where companies invite teachers to take part in competence development programs free of charge. He also conducts seminars against violence in schools throughout Sweden. Manuel was awarded with the “John Hron” scholarship as an acknowledgement for his engagement in promoting a violent free environment within the community.
Manuel has been a guest on several TV and radio programs in Sweden, among them Stina Dabrowski´s TV show and Swedish Radio P1’s “sommarpratare” (summer host series).

Sinkfield & Co Edmond Sinkfield was the last person in our family to be born a slave. I chose to honor his name by calling my company Sinkfield & Co. He died as a free man, but sometimes I wonder if he really felt free. In those days, freedom was only structural. Culturally and in the eyes of many – he was not. No money. Nowhere to go. No skills to speak of, except working the fields. As my grandmother said: “freedom is nothing if you can´t use it”. At Sinkfield & Co our singleminded purpose is to develop company cultures where everyone can exercise their freedom. Freedom to be. Freedom to act. Freedom to perform.
