Book of 2 Timothy

This is the second letter to Timothy authored by the Apostle Paul. The best estimate for the date of this writing is about 65 A.D. and was the last letter Paul wrote to his beloved co-worker. It is believed that this may have, in fact, been Paul’s last letter. This book warns the young Timothy against false teaching and urges him to live a life of purity as an example to his congregation. In other words, Timothy should expect trouble!

There is much to endure, and Timothy is a guidance system for right living in a world that contests both our point of view and our Savior.

Of note (if you read nothing else these verses will suffice):

[2 Timothy 1:2] To Timothy, my dearly loved son. Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

[2 Timothy 3:12-13] In fact, all those who want to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Evil people and impostors will become worse, deceiving and being deceived.

[2 Timothy 3:16] All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

[2 Timothy 4:18] The Lord will rescue me from every evil work and will bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
