$12,000 for the Christmas Fund or the eighth year in a row, Richmond Realtors have joined together to create a brighter holiday season for families in need. Led by Patti Martin, the 2018 Realtor Challenge raised $12,100 for the Richmond Christmas Fund, a program of Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives (RCRG) that provides grocery vouchers, toys, books and gift cards to families who can’t afford a holiday celebration. “This is a cause we all believe in,” said Martin. “If you’re struggling financially, the holidays can be a stressful time. By supporting the Christmas Fund, we can help alleviate

that pressure, and ensure that our neighbours in need can share in the magic of the season.” In total, the Realtor Challenge has generated well over $80,000 for the Christmas Fund, making it one of the program’s most successful fundraising campaigns. Over the years, more than 100 Realtors have taken part. “The campaign has had a huge impact on the Christmas Fund,” said Ed Gavsie, President and CEO of RCRG. “We serve more people every year, and donations from Realtors have been so important in helping us meet the demand. It’s a truly generous gift to the community.”

The Richmond Christmas Fund mobilizes the community’s spirit of giving to make holiday wishes come true for 2,100 low-income Richmond residents each year. Those who register with the program receive grocery vouchers, while children under 18 years old also receive toys, books, sports equipment and gift cards.
