Relocation

Navy families moving to Kingsville are encouraged to contact the Housing Service Center as soon as orders are received. Service Center personnel will assist you in locating suitable and affordable housing in the local area. e Service Center will also email “Welcome Aboard” information to you if you provide them your email address. e Service Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and can be reached by calling (361) 516-6498 or DSN 876-6498, or e-mailing: kingsville@housing.navy.mil.

Temporary quarters can be arranged by contacting the Bachelor Housing Office at (361) 516-6428 or DSN 876-6591. e combined officer and enlisted billeting office is open from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. An answering machine is available after duty hours.

Newcomers are also encouraged to contact the NAS Corpus Christi Personal Property Office as soon as possible after receiving orders to arrange shipment of household goods. Once shipment dates are known, contact the Personal Property Office to arrange storage or delivery of household goods.

Sponsor Assistance

Preplanning is essential for newcomers moving to the Kingsville area. All new military personnel should hear from a gaining-command sponsor shortly after receiving orders. If not, contact your gaining command Administrative Office and ask for your sponsor's name and phone number. Your gaining command should also provide you with a mailing address where mail can be forwarded until a permanent address can be established. Inform your sponsor of your planned arrival times so that reservations may be made for berthing in advance. Questions pertaining to check-in requirements can be addressed to the NAS Kingsville Admin Office by calling (361) 516-6288 or 516-6476 during normal work hours Monday through Friday. After hours, call (361) 774-5749.

PREPLANNING IS ESSENTIAL FOR NEWCOMERS MOVING TO THE KINGSVILLE AREA. ALL NEW MILITARY PERSONNEL SHOULD HEAR FROM A GAINING-COMMAND SPONSOR SHORTLY AFTER RECEIVING ORDERS. IF NOT, CONTACT YOUR GAINING COMMAND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE AND ASK FOR YOUR SPONSOR'S NAME AND PHONE NUMBER.

CHECK-IN

Newly reporting personnel are encouraged to check in before 4 p.m. at their prospective command headquarters building. Enlisted personnel reporting to the NAS Kingsville command should report to Building 2740, located on McCain Street. When arriving after duty hours, contact the NAS Kingsville Command Duty Officer (CDO) by calling (361) 438-6938. Personnel reporting to Training Air Wing TWO should report to the Student Control Office, Building 2741.

Personnel are encouraged to check in before 9 p.m. when the billeting office closes. When arriving after normal duty hours, the NAS Kingsville Command Duty Officer (CDO) can stamp your orders. Notify the appropriate duty officer in advance that you will be arriving after normal working hours by calling (361) 438-6938. Once you arrive, ask the NAS Security Police Office (361- 516-6217) to notify the duty officer. e NAS Security

Police Office is open 24-hours a day. Note: No Personnel Support Activity is available at NAS Kingsville. is service is provided at NAS Corpus Christi.

If you are arriving by POV, you will need to show the gate guard your military ID and orders upon entering the base. Be sure to have your driver's license, a copy of cur¬rent vehicle insurance and current vehicle registration papers.

Vehicle Registration

All newly reporting personnel must register their privately-owned vehicle with the Pass and Tag Office (361516-6555) within 30 days of checking aboard. Required documents include:

(1) current driver's license; (2) military, dependent, or civilian employee ID card;

(3) current state vehicle registration; (4) proof of current insurance; and (5) current motor vehicle inspection sticker (if required by the state where the vehicle is registered).

Motorcycles, mopeds and motor scooters require all of the above documentation and proof of Motorcycle Safety Course completion. Safety gear requirements for motorcycle riders on base include a helmet with eye protection, hard-soled shoes with heels, long¬-sleeved shirts or jackets, longlegged trousers, full-fingered gloves, and an orange or yellow vest with reflective strips front and back.

Vehicle decals are issued from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Temporary passes are available from the Security Dispatch office outside of these hours.
