02 Schematic Design

Design is based on extant structure and conditions of architecture in “District 12 of Tehran”. However, not similar to other residential complexes, this complex is following the integration and adaptability guidelines of urban design. Designed for passing pedestrians, there are spaces and areas in sides of the complex which are a mix of architecture and urban design. Some resting areas are also designed for this residential complex. Apartments are designed in five various types to meet various needs of Iranian households.

This project involves the demolition of existing residential and office structures on two lots, followed by the consolidation of boundaries to create a single lot. Subsequently, a new two-story mixed-use project will be constructed, adhering to the zoning and building codes of the City of Encinitas. Design and permitting for nine dwellings and two commercial retail spaces organized around courtyard with parking. Additionally, two new Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) will be added.

I participated as a team member through all phases of project from existing condition modeling, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration.

P.A.C.E. (Primary Adult Care Clinic)

Kuhlman Scott Architecture + Raymond Fox & Associates 2022

Imperial, CA

This is designing a new medical shell office building two stories above grade plane. KSA in coorporation with RFA, provided the preparation of entitlement and permit drawings for submittal to the City of Imperial for this two-story medical office building (MOB) and management of the City of Imperial, CA entitlement process.

I participated as a team member through all phase of project from schematic design, design development, and construction documents. I also produced renderings for presentation to RFA and the owner.

This project involves the design and construction services for the expansion of an existing one-story medical office building. This project requires additional structure/development of the site to establish approximately 10 parking spaces on the street adjacent to the property along with accessible parking and second-floor building entry.

I participated as a team member through all phase of project from schematic design, design development, and construction documents.

Resiliency Research and Education Center

Sustainable and Resilient Design 2017 East Boston, MA 12

This project aims to explore sustainable and resilient design approaches for carbon-neutral buildings and urban revitalization. It involves the creation of a mixed-use building dedicated to interdisciplinary research, sustainability education, and community outreach in East Boston. The design focuses on environmental ly conscious features, energy-efficient strategies, passive and active design methods, advanced building systems, and renewable energy sources. The project encompasses site analysis, program development, and compliance with building codes. The design concept considers programmatic elements and passive sustainable strategies, leading to schematic design involving spatial arrangement, structural grid, building envelope, site treatment, and MEP system integration. Energy models are employed to assess the impact of energy-efficient design strategies, guiding further development towards net-zero energy goals. Addi tionally, the project explores site improvements, including urban farming, a park, and an extension of the East Boston Greenway.

The Enhancement of Learning through the Design Proccess

Renovation of the Fort River Elementary School 2018

AMHERST, MA

The purpose of my thesis is to discover a logical way to connect the ideas of Rudolf Steiner, developer of the Waldorf Education Method, and current theories of educational and psychology with the architectural design of an educational facility while maintaining Massachusetts Department of Education standards. With this purpose in mind, I studied a school, built in 1973 in Amherst: the Fort River Elementary School. The current school structure is in architectural conflict with many of the ideas extolled by the Waldorf Method. Among the questions I wish to address in my thesis are: “What is the role of architecture in enhancing the quality of education?”, “What are the design elements which inspire learning?” “Can a Waldorf Method based design be compliant with Massachusetts Standards?”

Being suggested by CIP (commercially important peson) architect of Imam Khomeini airport, I designed street lighting of CIP based on the structure and conditions of the airport. The design was approved and was implemented later. The design is based on Persian architecture and lighting pole resembles Iranian warrior in Hakhamanesh kingdom 6th century BC.
