The Emergency Telecommunicator Certification

Offered by the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) in partnership with Reynolds and John Tyler Community Colleges, this course offers flexible scheduling that allows job seekers to complete in weeks with an industry valued certification. This program is designed to familiarize students with emergency communication centers, emergency telecommunication technology, interpersonal communication, legal issues, and job stress factors related to work as a 9-1-1 operator. 40 hours

Criminal Justice

The Reynolds Community College Criminal Justice career studies certificate program provides an overview of criminal justice and basic police officer training for those who have an interest in understanding societal issues associated with crime and the work performed by criminal justice professionals. Students examine various approaches to understanding crime, including maintaining law and order, police-citizen conflict, crime prevention, collecting evidence, conducting criminal investigations, the juvenile justice system, and the interface between police and other criminal agencies. Graduates of this career studies certificate may apply the courses completed to the Administration of Justice AAS degree. Financial Aid may be available. 6 courses
