Transcon Triumph
Interactivity of people and spaces
The idea behind the progressive design of Transcon Triumph, which is under construction in Andheri, Mumbai, was not only to add a unique high-rise to the urban development in a city where rectangular shapes dominate the landscape. The ‘X’ shaped design enhanced the functionality of the structure by allowing the entry of adequate natural light and cross ventilation, spacious rooms, and prohibiting overlooking between flats. The columns and beams too have been designed primarily along the periphery, allowing flexibility to the end-user in planning their apartments according to their functionality and need.

he 3,50,000sqft residential project highlights the interactivity of people and spaces in a sustainable intelligent environment. Going beyond the mere compliances of green certification requirements, the tower represents the high environmental, ethical and social standards by adopting following green features. These intelligent features will ensure minimal environmental impact of the project throughout its life.
While the industry has several perceptions of an Intelligent Buildings, we at ARK believe that they all have common unifying factors: the efficient management of resources, reduced dependency on energy, and minimum life-time costs. In today’s scenario, an ‘Intelligent’ structure can be attained with a mix of functionality, sustainability, and technology, based on a design following native architecture.. — Ar. Sustainable features incorporated into the core of the project in the form of basic steps; such as the use of recycled water for flushing and landscaping, rain water harvesting, solid waste management to generate manure, use of recycled construction materials with low VOC paints, adhesives and sealant; contribute towards making the project more intelligent. Waste reduction was planned right from the construction phase of Transcon Triumph. The project is committed to sustainable construction practices and follows a construction waste management policy to effectively manage the excess generated during construction. The project team identified steel scrap, concrete debris, brick waste, cement waste, packaging materials, cement bags, glass, wood, floor tiles, paint cans, and aluminium for diversion from landfill. Necessary actions are taken to reuse and recycle. Using a Sewage Treatment Plant ensures that all waste generated in the building is being reused for flushing and gardening.
Other intelligent energy saving factors that have been incorporated into the design of the building encompass the use of energy efficient light fixtures, CFC and HCFC free refrigerants, high solar reflective material on the roof to provide better insulation, and solar powered hot water system to cater domestic hot water requirement. Barring the sustainable features, the structure is also technologically equipped with an Integrated Building Automation System which encompasses access controls, monitoring of energy and water consumption, automation, and security.
