Undertaking Lucrative Initiatives
Enhancement in export competitiveness has direct correlation with the upgradation of existing infrastructure. To enable India to become a major player in the global food market, it is important to develop and market internationally competitive products and services. APEDA realizes its responsibility towards export lead growth and has thus initiated various developmental programmes These include: •
Infrastructural Improvements - Introducing better farming techniques, setting up centers for perishable cargo at airports and seaports, development of pack houses, setting up auction centers for flowers, up gradation of laboratories for testing & research work, formulation of software to trace the origin of the product to the farm level.

It is making concentrated efforts to develop and implement initiatives that address constraints faced by exporters and is aiming at reducing the risk of doing business overseas. APEDA offers financial assistance under various schemes to augment India's agri-exports and to make it competitive as a whole. Realizing the need to develop a better rapport between the traders and the officials in the importing countries, APEDA has drawn up various market promotion programmes for projecting our country's resource potential, product diversification, quality assurance and our liberal trade incentives. For this purpose APEDA initiates talks with various countries, invites delegations to conduct conformity tests, organizes buyer-seller meets, provides assistance for market development, sponsors delegates to other countries, participates in national and international trade fairs and provides publicity through print and electronic media.
