He has always given God the glory through the preached Word and his daily living. In 1994, after pastoring in the Baptist denomination for seven years, he founded One Accord Ministries International, Inc. (formerly One Accord Gospel Temple, Inc.) where he continues to pastor. If ever there was a nickname that anyone could give this man it would be “The Lion of Compassion”. There is a strength founded in love for people that makes him a champion. Bishop, Dr. Goodman received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Florida, his Masters Degree in Theology, and his Doctorate Degree in Christian Psychology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary. He is also the author of the course the “Repeat Offender” that is offered by Jacksonville Theological Seminary. Bishop, Dr. Goodman just released his new book titled A Piece of Me. At One Accord Ministries International, Inc., his vision from God includes the operation of a Food and Clothing Ministry, Cultural Arts Ministry, a Health Ministry and a very gifted and talented Music Ministry. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Jacksonville Theological Seminary. He also served as a Facilitator for Jacksonville Theological Seminary and Revelation Message Bible College for eight years. Bishop, Dr. Jan D. Goodman, Sr. is also a singer, songwriter, composer, and recording artist. His first CD is titled “Cause He’s Worthy” and the second is titled “The Rock”. Both CD’s contain songs written by the Bishop and First Lady, Prophetess, Dr. Vera J. Goodman. He is working on a new music project along with First Lady Productions/GPIP Records, Inc. and AMP Them Studios. Bishop, Dr. Goodman has been honored with several awards. He was named to the Florida Gospel Hall of Fame, and to the Library of Congress Who’s Who Registry. Now, Bishop, Dr. Jan D. Goodman, and his wife, First Lady, Prophetess, Dr. Vera Goodman are traveling and spreading the “Good News”. The Bishop constantly stresses that nothing is more important than the Word and that winning souls for Kingdom building is the primary responsibility of the people of God. After serving twenty years with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Bishop has turned in his badge, and now travels to compel men and women, boys and girls from all parts of the world to Jesus. God gave the vision to expand into the evangelistic field, and JDG Ministries, Inc. was founded. Bishop, Dr. Goodman travels under this ministry to preach the Gospel in New Harvest Fields. As the CEO and founder of this evangelistic ministry, he seeks to share all that God has given him with others. His concern for souls and The Word are the driving forces, and Bishop carries this vision out to the letter as God directs. Yes, like David, Bishop, Dr. Jan D. Goodman, Sr. is a man after God’s own heart.
Pastors of Excellence Honorees Apostle Joseph L. Greenwas born the 3rd of 6 children to William E. Green and Mary Louis Green. He was born and raised in Sanford North Carolina, where he was introduced to music and the gospel music culture. He was first inspired by his mother who was a soloist. Watching her created a desire in him to sing also. As he became more interested in music and singing his parents decided to help his development and began purchasing musical equipment for him and his siblings, this lead Apostle Green to begin playing the base and lead guitar at an early age. As time progressed they realized that there was more to offer than just playing and singing for a hobby. So they started their own group called the “Gospel Quintet “. The group began to travel from city to city singing about the goodness of Jesus Christ. As Apostle Green begin to get older he realized that music was not just what he liked to do but it was what God had destined for him to do, even at a young age. At the age of fifteen he was inspired by God to begin writing his very own songs. As years progressed his ability and talent grew to an even greater level, which led him to start a group called “The Living Proof Singers”. They were blessed to release their first single called “America” God is still in charge. Which was inspired by September 11th tragedy. For 13 years the group traveled all over the state and opened up for people like Luther Barnes. They also did concerts in various places including New York City. Many lives were changed and many souls were saved, delivered and set free through the ministry of song. Fifteen years later God called Apostle Green to a higher calling. God woke him up in the midnight hours and told him that it was time to birth his own ministry and to call the ministry “Try Jesus Ministries”. With his wife Pansy Green being his number one supporter he said yes to God and went forth. As the church began to grow, God begin to send Gifted, Anointed singers to the ministry. Apostle Green took notice and created a new group called “God’s Glory”. Apostle Green’s and God’s Glory mission/purpose is to spread the word of God all over the nation through the ministry of song. This brings about salvation and deliverance to those who are bound up by strongholds of satan. Apostle Green is a very humble man, yet powerful in the things of God, which makes him an awesome leader and role model for God’s Glory and Try Jesus Ministries. Countless lives are being changed from Sunday to Sunday as Apostle Green and God’s Glory minister every week through song. It’s all because of the presence of the Glory of God that consumes the place and takes over the atmosphere. Apostle Green and God’s Glory allow God to have his way in all things.

Pastors of Excellence Honorees Pastor DeMarcus Markeith Pierson was born on June 22, 1976 in Tyler, Texas. Although he was introduced to the world in very humble conditions, greatness was in his destiny. His mother, now Apostle Janice K. Thompson, instilled a love and hunger for God in him, even as a young boy. Being raised in church, he learned the value of solid church family in the form of the Bethel Temple COGIC. A bright and tenacious child, DeMarcus soon gained a love for music, becoming on accomplished organist as a teenager. Accepting Christ at an early age, he displayed his love for God and church by becoming one of the youngest Minister’s of Music in the area. Under the leadership of Bishop Larry D. Wade, he led the Bethel Temple Music Department to heights never before achieved. At this time, his call to preach became undeniable, as mere choir rehearsals turned to one-night revivals, not only at his church but also in the community as he directed two community choirs in the area. So at the age of 22, he accepted his call to preach, and officially began to minister to people by the hundreds. Preaching the uncompromising word of God with clarity, but with a vibrant excitement, he began evangelizing all around. Marrying his sweetheart, Joniesha, in 2001, they headed down the path of God’s divine destiny for their lives. In early 2003, God revealed to them a plan for an end-time ministry that would be a safe haven for the young and old alike. Equipping the people of God with “A lasting word for the last days” became their goal. Stepping out in faith, Pastor DeMarcus Pierson founded the Omega Ministries International church in July 2004. This dynamic ministry is full of the anointing and powerful presence of God. Giving God an energetic, lively praise is Omega’s chief philosophy, with Pastor Pierson leading the way. Ministering in the prophetic, Pastor Pierson teaches sound biblical principles in a new exuberant manner. With messages like, “My Ex wants me back”, “Meet me at the church; It’s going down”, “From prophecy to victory”, and “The X-Men series”, Pastor Pierson is reaching a new generation of lost souls. Becoming a new father of Micah Jayden in September 2006 has only intensified his desire to lead God’s people further. Pastor DeMarcus Pierson is on a mission bound for the next level in God, determined to praise God all the way.

God is using him in an unprecedented way. Pastor Tucker was joined in marriage on September 25, 2004, to the anointed and powerful woman of God, Rachel Wallace. Rachel is a wonderful asset to the kingdom and completes this powerful team of ministry. She gave birth to two beautiful baby girls named Lily Grace on July 24, 2008 and Sadie Hope on May 31, 2011. God placed the call to preach on Pastor Tucker at a young age. On September 16, 1999, he delivered his first message at the age of fourteen. He has not stopped since. Bishop Tyrone D. Hunter Under the single parentage influence of his mother, Katie
B. Jenkins, who was a strong beacon in his life, Bishop Tyrone D. Hunter. Called to preach at the age of 14. His destined ministry path began under the leadership of Bishop John L. Meares, Sr., at Evangel Temple in the Washington D.C. area. God would later direct him to a pastorship at St. Thomas Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 2001 he was consecrated to the office of Bishop. Under the auspices of the Church’s governing body, the Greater International Pentecostal Holiness Churches, Inc., Bishop Hunter has served as Vice President and is currently a member of the body’s decision-making leadership, known as the Holy Elder’s Council. Bishop Hunter received his Bachelor of Theology Degree from the Pentecostal School of Theology in Martinsville, Virginia and his Doctorate of Theology from the Bethlehem Bible College, where he pioneered the opening of the first branch of the college to locate in North Carolina, and held the position of Chancellor and Dean. In 2004, the Lord led Bishop Hunter to open the Living Epistle Bible College, located on the campus of St. Thomas Chapel, where he is the current Founder/Chancellor, and one of the scholars. Bishop Hunter is a man after God’s own heart. He is fondly referred to as “The eagle preacher” for his faith in God’s redemptive powers. He has held Conferences in Jamaica in his efforts to share the Gospel abroad. The church continues its fellowship through the support of sending Sunday school books to the foreign Ministry each quarter. Bishop Hunter’s humanitarian nature to see the sick healed has led him to many volunteer hours in his position as one of the Chaplains at Cone Hospital. Also, he leads the ministry in its support of Home of Refuge Outreach, Inc. Homeless Shelter through the Church’s annual monetary donations, Church members who volunteer for preparation and/serving of meals, and the ministry’s purchase of beds for the shelter. Bishop Hunter is also a supporter of the Rockingham County Detention Ministry, through the Church’s monetary donations for the purchase of Bibles. The ministry provides members to the monthly teaching pool of Bible Study teachers at the Rockingham County Jail. In his heart for the community, Bishop Hunter had the Church to operate a Community Crisis Center. The Center was in operation for a total of five years to lend support to the community. The center paid utility bills and helped provide food through its on-site food pantry, and its relationship with Welfare Liaison. As the economy has grown to such elevated levels of need, the center had to close its doors and shift the focus to many of the other congregational casualties of the economy. The Church has continued to maintain a relationship with Toys for Tots over the years and has worked to provide both the congregation and community with toys and other needed items during the Christmas Holidays along with food drives at the Church to collect canned goods for those in need of food. Bishop Hunter is God’s servant at: heart. He not only leads his ministry, however, he can be found laboring directly beside his congregation. He is such a realist of the things that need to be done at the Church that he can be found laboring physically beside the Trustees, from completing landscaping and repairs, to going to purchase produce to give to the members. He has been married to Dr. Juanita Hunter for more than 46 years. They have reared five children of their own and two adoptive children. He is both a grandfather and a great grandfather, who stands tall as a figure within his family. Bishop Tyrone D. Hunter is truly the epitome of a “Pastor of Excellence”.

He is a Pastor’s Pastor . He is also a community activist, often attending meetings for the betterment of the community. Pastor Lockett continue to bless our church with strong character, integrity and leadership. Pastor Lockett has been married to the beautiful Elizabeth Diane Lockett for 40 years and together they’ve shared the awesome privilege of raising two sons and two daughters. They also share the joys of nine grandchildren.
Pastor Dennis A. Meredith’s Pastor Dennis A. Meredith’s goal is to inspire, educate, and liberate. He gained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion from Sanford University in Birmingham, Alabama. While living in Birmingham, he served at Mount Zion Baptist Church and Sardis Baptist Church. Traversing from the east coast to the west coast, Pastor Meredith attended graduate School at Golden Gate Theological Seminary while serving as Pastor of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist church in Oakland, California. Pastor Meredith moved to Atlanta, Georgia after being unanimously selected to serve as Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He is a well sought after Minster, a Life Coach, and Counselor offering weekly Relationship Classes to strengthen and build healthy communities. He has a forthcoming book entitled, “Behind the Veil, The Fearless Truth.” This book will showcase his fearless willingness to take a stand by being truthful about his own life as a traditional Baptist preacher. He discovered his purpose in life was to become a spiritual leader and liberator of mankind. He is most known for his leadership and unremitting efforts to promote positive change for social justice and human rights for all people. His church’s motto is “Love and Acceptance.” It’s an inclusive ministry for all people regardless of race, gender and/or sexual orientation. His ministry provides a religious and spiritual covenant for those who have been prejudicially left out of being allowed to worship in traditional churches because of their sexual orientation or social differences. Since becoming Pastor of Tabernacle over 18 years ago, Reverend Meredith has led many major outreach developments ranging from community restoration to leading social justice and human rights campaigns. His community development includes acquiring and refurbishing over 13 parcels of blighted property in the Old Fourth Ward, restoring an economically challenged community. His outreach ministry for disadvantaged communities also extends to the co-founding of Beacon of Hope, Inc., a nationally accredited early childhood development center for low income families.. Realizing the HIV/AIDS pandemic was debilitating various socio-economic facets of society; Pastor Meredith spearheaded the Stop the Hate campaign. This movement received national attention for its emphasis on stopping self-hate for the economically disadvantaged and same gender-loving people. This platform afforded Pastor Meredith the opportunity to share the spotlight with Dr. Maya Angelou at a fundraising event in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He has been honored with many awards from various civic and religious organizations. Pastor Meredith was presented the Clergy Committed to Community Award by the Atlanta Chapter of the National Action Network; a non-profit civil rights organization founded by Reverend Al Sharpton. Pastor Meredith has also been recognized by the Atlanta NAACP, included among Atlanta Business Journal’s 100 Most Influential Pastors, and received the Dan Bradley Humanitarian Award to name a few. Whether Pastor Meredith is moderating a community forum, facilitating a relationship class, or preaching from the pulpit, his aim is to unite love’s wisdom to build healthy, successful relationships and communities. He has been featured in the New York Times and this past March, Pastor Meredith and his life partner appeared in the Atlanta Magazine in an article entitled, “Unorthodox: Three Stories of Rogue Ministers Who Found Their Own States of Grace.” Pastor Meredith is a man of noble strength with a reputation for honesty, intellect, equality, and compassion. He has helped and continues to free thousands to spiritually and personally live their authentic life and truth. Pastor Meredith has the heart of God and it manifests in his family, in his church, and in his life. He is today’s Freedom Fighter.
