SEATING ARRANGEMENT FOR LOWER LEVEL SITTING AREA
The site was located on the main Pusa Road, New Delhi with a total area of 355 sq. meter. We were to design a library, a cafe and a retail space. Keeping Material library as the primary activity I decided to maintain the original structure of the building so that it blends with the neighbourhood. Using double heights to my advantage I had given 3 floors which also include a Mezzanine level. The highlight of the building is the lower level which showcases samples of various materials used in Interiors. Pop-up zones have been provided to enhance the user experience. The structure of the library is quite simliar to an office space since it is a Material Library where people from Architecture, Interior & Furniture background can come in and take advantage of the knowledge this space tends to provide. Cafe has been shifted to the Mezzanine level to create a heirarchy of space in terms of privateness/publiness. It acts like a center zone for people to relax, enjoy munchies, converse over coffee etc. It caters to the Psychological needs of the employees and acts like a breakout space. The Upper level is a private area since it only has meeting rooms which can be used on pre-booking basis. Apart from the confined meeting rooms, casual seating arrangement has also been provided. The structure of each floor is such that maximum level of visual connectivity is possible through virtical heirarchy of spaces. Since very less solid partitions have been given, the space also has maximum level of visual interaction on horizontal basis making it more open.

The upper level has all the meeting rooms which can be used by the visitors to study or for meetings. Cafe has been shifted to the Mezzanine acting as a relaxing zone between two work areas.
