Personal Project - Birdie

Birdie is a character of a mini show that I created for my baby nephews. It is still under development.

Birdie is a sparrow who lives in a rural area in Hong Kong. He is active, kind and curious. He loves exploring in wetland and gardens. He is always looking for interesting things to see, and is ready to help friends in need.

University Project -Bulb and Cell

Bulb the Grandpa and Cell the Granddaughter are characters for a university assignment, mainly to explore similarity and contrast between characters.

Bulb and Cell, who run an old electrical stall in a modern commercial area, live in future pre-apocolypse Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong. Bulb is short-tempered, but he loves his granddaughter very much. He wants to live a stable life that he only keeps his head down when he works. Cell is strong on the outside, but soft inside. She tends to hide her emotions until she breaks down. She loves her grandpa very much, and she will do anything to make their livelihood well.

University Project -Larv and Pillar

Larv and Pillar are characters for a university assignment, developed from a range of images that seemed to have no connection.

Larv the collector/wings maker is accused by Pillar the cocoon maker to have stolen Pillar’s cocoon. They work out their friendship from misunderstanding to collaboration through cocoon and wings making, in order to escape from an apocolypstic factory world. Larv is tensed and always picks on small mistakes. He is always ready to for a fight when he is not collecting objects and making wings. Pillar is calm that he can forgive anyone for no matter the person did. He is good at making cocoons but no one is aware of his talent.

Personal Project - Panleton,Cattuson and Mama Chic

Panleton, Cattuson and Mama Chic are characters that I developed for my personal web animated series. They are still under development.

Panleton is a skull-headed panda whohas superpower to solve chaos. He isdetermined, clear minded and calm.

Cattuson is a skull-headed cat who also has superpower to make things right. She is hot-headed, foodie and caring.

Mama Chic is a ballon hen, who has superpower and a magical ballon body to protect Panleton and Cattuson. She is patient, alerted and strong-willed.

University Project -Moon Suk

This is my first character design in UTS Animation. The main task is to create a different character from a friend’s disguise of their charcater.

Moon Suk is a traditional Korean shaman who lives in the wood. He is playful that he likes to play magic tricks to people. He does rituals everyday to safeguard the wood that he lives in. He never takes off his mask since the disguise comforts him from being alone in the wood.

University Project - Zendy

This is the charcater for my final film in UTS Animation course. I got inspiration from Japanese culture and sea creatures during research.

Zendy is an origami teenage hunter who lives in Okinawa, Japan in aother dimension. She is abandoned by her parents, but she is managed to live a positive life by getting to know new people and doing her favourite things - hunting and cooking. Zendy is kind and grateful. She is playful at most time. However, she isserious when she hunts since this is a skill taught by her godfather and godmother, who she treasures the most.

Personal project - the Weirdo Family

This is a fun character design exercise I did by creating a simple line art to further develop the characters.

Tree Elf is kind and easy going.

Hunter, the God of War is ambitious and serious.

Madam Eyes(pronounces as Yes) is a bean counter and she loves being pretty.

Duncan is narrow-minded and impulsive. He hides his confusion behind his sun glasses.

Being a beastly zombie hybrid, Crazy John doesn’t have his own sense and he can be really insanely dangerous.

Grumpy Bean is always grumpy and does not forgive.

University Project - Danny and Laura

Danny and Laura are fictional characters developed from John Steiner’s microlit - Tooth. Danny and Laura are old couples.

Danny is afraid of Laura since she always loses her temper when they talk. Danny always overthinks that he has not taken any action to win Laura back, but he truly loves Laura from his heart.

Laura is always angry about Danny since she does not understand what old Danny is thinking. She tries to be angry and yells so Danny might for once give her some reactions. She is always on the verge of filing a divorce with Danny, but she wants to give Danny hard times that she experiences.
