Unfortunately a short barrel produces an immense sound and light signature. The B&T APC556-PDW with integrated suppressor solves these disadvantages, resulting in a perfect short barrel assault rifle.
The APC556-PDW is lightweight, compact 5.56 carbine an with an integrated suppressor. The barrel of the APC556-PDW is 222 mm long. A relatively short barrel such as this will normally produce a sound of more than 169 dB. This is not only very irritating during combat, but will also create permanent hearing loss to anyone in the immediate vicinity of the weapon. The suppressor will not only produce a reduction of about 20 dB (148 dB), which is about 13 dB less than an unsuppressed 9 mm SMG (+/- 161 dB) but also reduce the muzzle flash significantly. • • • • • • • • •
