THE HEALTH OF YOUR BUILDING MATTERS
New data shows a direct correlation between health and real estate value
A new report from The Centre for Active Design, in collaboration with QuadReal Property Group, points to the positive ways that certain health indicators drive value in real estate.
According to the report’s findings, implementing key healthy building strategies at your multi-residential building can translate into higher tenant satisfaction ratings while improving your bottom line. While public health research has made it clear for decades that the built environment has a direct impact on the health outcomes of occupants, COVID-10 has intensified the message. Building owners today are under increasing pressure to provide data showing how their built environments are impacting human health.
Entitled, “Health Drives Value in Real Estate” the new report reveals there is a measurable correlation between healthy building strategies and tenant satisfaction. Survey says… • Residential projects located in walkable districts with plenty of amenities and access to nearby services command higher rents.
• Residential projects that conduct regular maintenance and implement operational strategies to clean, monitor and improve the building have higher occupant satisfaction ratings.
• Residential projects that offer healthy food access (via food courts, lobby offerings) represent a major opportunity for residential developers.
