I thank you for your attention and send you my kindest regards. Yours sincerely. Last updated: 2h September, 2013.
Since the first years of school I had a very clear idea of what I wanted to do because I have always been inspired by architecture. So, after having obtained a diploma in Surveying at the Technical Institute of Schio I enrolled at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ferrara. During my university career I worked for six months at ADEPT Office, in Copenhagen, thanks to which I took part in various remarkable projects. For one of the projects developed during this experience we have got a Special Mention in the EUROPAN 10 – 2010 Architecture Competition. Afterwards I followed the ERASMUS Exchange Program and attended courses for seven months at the ‘Universidade de Minho” in Guimaraes – Portugal. During this period I was under the guidance of Professor Carlos Maya and participated in the Student Competition of the World Architecture Festival URBAN SOS for carrying out a construction project for the redevelopment of Port au Prince, Haiti’s capital city, after the earthquake. Once I was back in Italy I took contact with Professor Antonello Stella of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ferrara and started analysing the steps for my thesis project.
The central theme of my thesis was the Redevelopment of an abandoned Industrial Area in Ris-Orangis hours away on the outskirts of Paris. I and Professor Stella jointly decided that the best to elaborate further this matter would have been if I could work in a French Architectural Studio. As a result of our thinking I moved to Paris for some months and found a job at the Architectural Studio Design SERERO in Paris. SERERO Architects Studio has helped me in understanding how to let my projects being more appealing and also in taking into much consideration the different ways of a “project approach”. During this period I have also learnt how to establish important relationships, also useful to get research and design guidelines, with the Local Administrations. In July 2011 I graduated in Architecture and in January 2012 I obtained the Authorization for Projects’ Signing by the Italian Government. Currently I am following projects of Interior Design, Graphic Design, 3D Modelling and Rendering for Architectural Studios in my homeland. My career aspiration is to enhance my architectural knowledge on an international basis and I am eagerly searching for this opportunity!

Pa-Ris: jardin à habiter. The Project Idea could be express through this play on words: a green incontaminated area located at Ris-Orangis linked directly with the city center of Paris, Pa-Ris. The themes of the project considered a Urban scale regarding the viability and the design of the context, and an Architecture scale respect the residencial project designed in the ex-industrial area in Ris-Orangis. The predominance of Nature is really important for the project and for sure defined most of it, but at the same time is was considered the built area around the project site. The Senna river flows along the project site and represent a slow link with Paris, however the railroad RER D guarantee a fast connection with the city center. The component TIME is an essential factor for the project; in fact the short distance in term of minutes permit to considered Ris-Orangis as an area that belong Paris. In the project scenario, Ris-Orangis from small city of Essonne become Pa-Ris, the “jardin à Habiter” of Paris.

Master Plan
Terrace Building
EDIFICIO TRASPARENTE
The project area is located in Rovigo, close to the train station. The goal is re-evaluate the area increasing his potentially with facilities so that the area become a new actrative center. The action I did in this project is think the center of the area as an empty equipped area and build along the perimeter. In fact the strategic position permit to define the limit of the area in such a way to attract people inside. The principal building has inside apartments, officies a museum and resturant. While the existing building has been integrated with a terrace where are build an outdoor cinema.

HOTEL LAKe - PLEASURE
The Hotel-Spa located on the east side of Como Lake, where NATURE dominate the rest. Other important factor to considered is the high slope of the side that determinated the volumes of the building. In fact the steps, defined from the floors of the building, would be as a continuity of the slope. Even the curved lines of the facade follow the natural lines of the ground, reducing the enviromental impact. The Hotel’s rooms have a green terrace where the people can enjoy the view of the lake. The glass facade permit a solar irradiation during the winter time, and the roof garden guarantee a perfect isolation during the summer time.

RE-INTERACTIVE BUILDING
The RE - Interactive Building is located inside an abandoned military area in Bologna. The building is composed with a central existing block and two new glass interactive facades. These are equiped with digital screens where are show images or illustrations with different meanings. The behind meaning of the project is create a public relation with the different people resident in the area. Often the different nationality of the inhabitants and the different culture are limits for the integration and probably teaching them, through the images, texts and illustrations, the principal principles of the other culture could be a way to live better together.
ISTANT HOUSE
Istant House is an house projected for foreign student where they can live during them studies in Italy. My idea of Istant House is a simple, economic and transportable house. The concept is based over the cooperation between the inhabitants, so that they can make a sinergy all together and collaborate. In fact the house can be transformed with some simple action: Rotate, for the irradiation of the sun, Lift the windows to have shadow and Pull Out the steps when you want climb to the roof garden. This green element together a “green carpet in front of the house permit transform a grey city in a nice green city where young students can be live and study easily.

REP. DOMENICANA
The current situation of Port-au-Prince is very tragic. After the earthquake of 12th January 2010 more than one million of people are living on the street. Although the main need is to provide emergency shelters for the homeless, Port-au-Prince requires a project that addresses its future: a planning strategy that is able to regenerate and regulate the areas that have been more drastically hit by the catastrophe. The destruction generated by the earthquake should be taken as an opportunity to lay the foundations for an economic, social and urban recovery. A mere reconstruction is not enough for a country full of problems before the catastrophe even struck. The concept of the project therefore focuses on the term TRANSFORMATION, as this is what Port-auPrince needs. Tourism is one of the strengths of the country and should be exploited by planning facilities, services and beaches along the waterfront. The project will regenerate the two areas of study laying foundations for an economic recovery, made possible by the improvement of the tourism sector, and a social recovery, based on the creation of new dwellings and the redevelopment of strategic areas of the city centre.
TAXI
MUMA
, CABRAS museum
The project to extension of Cabras’s Museum is originated from a double needs: first of all build a new area where collocate the new archeological finds and second renovate all the museum’s external area and redifine the natural paths. The building designed creates a direct relation with the context and with all the natural aspects without skip the elements of existing museum. In fact the shape of the new building took the principal lines of the old one however we re-interpreted the materials in a different way. The drawing of ground floor is designed based on a scheme of path, where the people can walk following a history of archeological finds, and is direct connected with the existing museum.
DEICHMANSKE L I B R A R Y We propose a gorge-like space imagined from the blue Fjord. The interior of this valley - stratifyed by boxes creates a new urban scene different in scale with the surrounding buildings. Opposite the public space of the white opera house that spreads horizontally, the perpendicularly running valley of various hues of blue is a new space created in the city - a new landmark. various levels
The project proposes a marriage that optimizes the synergy between different programs, and also secures the commercial value of the property. The library spreads horizontally on the lower floors to decrease the vertical circulation and effectively provides a universal accessible space with little obstacles. The library is then literally wrapped in commercial programs - hotel, offices, appartments etc. - letting the atrium become a fantastic collective spatial experience for all users.

We propose a building that offers a new type of public space in Oslo; a covered sculpture garden above the foyer and library, which melts the city and building together. Above this new hills floating exhibition abstract as a cloud in the sky. Hill and the floating box connected by large voids that create amazing vertical spaces, contexts, and light for the hills. A 50,000 m2 museum has a complex functional program of exhibition space, library, cafes, magazine agency, jobs and shops in an interesting mix multifunctional. This multifaceted program has varying needs depending on the particular light, altitude and atmosphere. The exhibition spaces have a high degree of flexibility, large horizontal spaces to be able to absorb a radically changing development, number of exhibitions. Therefore, we propose to separate the broad programs into two major groups: one - THE FLOATING BOX - is an exhibition and magazine agency. The other - HILL - is the public part of the foyer, the library, administration and workshops. Separation takes place in the building section, where the box is lifted over the hill, thereby creating a theatrical space, as a covered urban space, a Transport continuation of the af varer surrounding urban space. A new type of public space in Nødudgange/Brandtrapper Oslo, and a fantastic location of the sculpture park.

The site will be a showcase development representing the future values of the entire area; Sustainability, density, accessibility, diversity, architectural quality and close relations to the existing natural and cultural values of the area are primary factors. The usual strong ideology and set of shared rules, which defines the objectives and framework for a community are today no longer suitable. A contemporary community needs to be something that residents can opt into or out of. Privacy in one’s own home and in outdoor areas is a primary requirement in medium density contemporary dwellings. By using a series of outwardly coherent but inwardly diverse units as enormous flowerpots for trees, we propose a contemporary sustainable village. The development is based on urban qualities from the existing village, yet holds a new skyline typology composed of different trees, which offers a unique neighbourhood identity.

Roberto Santi

Recommendation: Riccardo Bortolotto Riccardo Bortolotto worked as an intern from 01-02-2009 to 01-07-2009. From the start the collaboration was very engaged and professional. During the period of working at ADEPT, Riccardo Bortolotto evolved to become a very valuable employee at the office. Riccardo Bortolotto worked in various scales involving architecture and urban planning. By being involved in different phases of the project, he learned and developed a wide series of architectural tools. At ADEPT, Riccardo Bortolotto was always part of a project team, and was from very beginning a very open-minded and positive person. A great worker, who knows how to combine a happy mood with a very professional approach, at the office Riccardo Bortolotto worked on the projects: 2 Private Villa’s in Copenhagen Deichman library competition Europan 10: Lisberg, Denmark Oslo National Museum competition We wish Riccardo Bortolotto the best for the future, and we truly recommend him to any other architectural office. Sincerely
Anders Lonka, Architect and Partner ADEPT-[‘adept] sb.master, expert (at, in) adj. skilled, competent. 2.ADEPT-architecturedepartment (a-dept). There is a tendency in current architecture and planning, to work introverted and solely focus on the requirements of a specific brief. ADEPT’s approach is to develop very contextual projects which add value to its urban environments without compromising the specific brief. Experience has shown that this approach does not only promote better cities and urban spaces, it also creates a synergy in relation to economically, socially and ecologically sustainable developments. ADEPT is based in Copenhagen, Denmark and works within the fields of architecture, urban planning and landscape design. ADEPT is founded and lead by architects: Anders Lonka, Martin Laursen and Martin Krogh. The office only takes part in deliberately selected projects. Therefore it is able to achieve a high level of quality in each single contracted job. The company has within the latest year won numerous international competitions.

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION I am writing this letter in support of Riccardo Bortolotto, who was a student of Architecture in the Facoltà di Architettura di Ferrara. In my capacity as a teacher of the department, I have known him for the past three years and have found him to be an aspiring and sincere student. He attended my courses of “Project Laboratory III” and I followed him in the thesis final project. He has done exceedingly well with an excellent score of 7/8 in the final project. He has an inquisitive mind and good interpretation abilities that will greatly facilitate the work at the Office. An intelligent and hardworking student, Riccardo has a particular interest for the projects in new areas as well as for renovation of brownfield sites. This inclination is visible in his Portfolio and specially in his thesis project. The almost maniacal precision to detail will make his projects perfectly clear through an excellent representation. He has the ability to voice his ideas clearly; he has shown his skills as Architect through his partecipation in a Architecture Competition which I personally followed. The competition was a Museum in Cabras, a small city in Sardegna. We received a special mention. The link it show the project is: http://europaconcorsi.com/projects/188645-Polo-museale-di-Cabras At a personal level, Riccardo is a well disciplined, smart with a pleasant personality. He is unstinting in his efforts to keep abreast with the work. In my unbiased opinion he has a rich blend of creativity, temperament and discipline required for a person who desires a career as an architect. I strongly recommend him to everyone Architecture Office.

A classic bike from 1965 restaured by myself. Classic lines and old components of a bike of the 60s, through a maniacal sensitivity to details, blend the new design in an essential minimalism.
